Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I have a crop scouting internship. So many poor farmers have tracked up their alfalfa fields or have to replant the low spots that got drowned out.
Certainly in some fields the plants have been soaking it up though.
The sand counties are doing a lot better than the rest of the state rn due to the excellent drainage.

Couple farms by have not got much hay cut.couple fields by me look tore up.... Still waiting to plant last 1/2 acre, ....:rant:rant
Now the next thing will happen after this week no more rain till it snows............
The only difference in farming and a casino, get crop insurance, cant get slot machine, black jack insurance.:D
Out west looking pretty ruff, some people air recued, 10 to 12 inches rain some areas , maybe I should not complain about getting corn in, could be alot worse...............

Man, if only all this rain we got this month was evenly distributed over the summer. Then conditions would be golden.

Sooooo everyones garden is growing, plenty of rain.
Planting last crop corn tomorrow should be dry enough. Tilled yesterday Tues, and a lil today just lightly only 2 or 3 inch down and did some leveling, ground drying some. rain coming friday so not much choice.

Hen got off her nest had 2 little ones, 1 was in the nest cold and the other she was sitting on , she got up and it was cold......
Soooo brought the 2 in rest of eggs to incubator, the 2 did not make it, 2 eggs hatched and they are lively. Meanwhile the hen I guess decided to be surrogate hen to the 6 I took out last week. I think she has 2 of those now and I just took the other 2 from incubator and gave them to her. She lifted up her rearend and the 2 chicks dissapeared, see how this all goes. I am up over 30 chickens now, I dont need anymore.

Daughter came home few days ago and found about 4? month old kitten on porch, hummmmm. Checked around no one claims it as I thought would happen imagine someone dropped it off on town road.
Healthy looking, not malnourished.
She wants to keep the cat, she is already buying it special food and toys.....................
Wonder what the chickens will have to say about it.

I had to get rid of Flash & Zombie. Some goof nut who works at an egg farm decided to bring home 3 roos and his trailer is across the street from the Park owner. Needless to say, he also had them penned outside with a tarp over them and they were crowing up a storm, so Park owner put a note in my mailbox that they had to go immediately. Fortunately, our friend took our hens and put them with other hens their age with no issues. Zombie made herself right at home. Flash, on the other hand, is very timid. Some hens pecked at her but she pecked right back. They are doing great and I still get to visit them.

I hope all of you have a Fantastic 4th of July holiday! We are going to the Milton Parade. My daughter and granddaughter will be on the Timber Hill Winery Float.
