well if yours are sexing out at 10 days, then i got all girls, mine are all most fully feathered out, so if you do have that extra boy, I do need one.

Good Morning Everyone! Was up early today. Had a bad dream about water rising and going through the house again. But the chickens were safe they were in the house and the doves. Don't have no stinkin doves IDK. Got up and it raining. Then thunder and lightning for a bit. Put a second coat of stain on the trim, it's as close to the rest as possible. Couple of hours and I'll slap the first coat of poly on it. L's pizza was a big hit as well as her empinada's [sp?]. Basically a pan fried small apple or cherry pie in a tortila shell then rolled in sugar.

While the stain is drying I'm frying up a couple lbs. of bacon and sausage for the freezer then on to meatloaf for this evenings repast. Elaine glad you found a good home for Spunky/Frisky. Bigz maybe you ought to pattern that shot gun.

DD's beau was asking about me hatching some quail or pheasant for him but he had no idea what he wanted. Told him the pheasants probably wouldn't be around long. 2 more weeks and hopefully it'll be noisy around here! Then move the brooder into the back porch.

Good Morning friends! Carol, looks like you will have plenty of good people to check on Ol' Dill! I know the therapeutic place near here (Avalon) treats their horses very well.
You guys are pretty lucky with your all pullet hatches! Somebody must know I love roos cause I seem to hatch out mostly males! Speaking of roos; the little ones that I got from H&R a month or so ago are starting to try and crow. They are just hysterical! THey run around like well, chickens with their head's cut off, and then stop dead and try to crow. I will be moving the blue Ams from Jim down there today I think. They are rapidly outgrowing their fishtank! Since there are so many blues I think they will do OK with the bigger birds in the basement room...it will be really quiet up here with only my 6 hatchlings in the tank! I also have to get more birds grouped together so DH doesnt kill too many when I am out of town this weekend!

I font understand his problem but he seems to let something die every time I leave...it is getting to where I dont want to go anywhere anymore!

So I counted my sitting birds that I know of....1 chicken, 6 geese, 7 ducks and 1 turkey! I think it will be chickariffic around here next month for sure! But, I am NOT counting them before they hatch

Then for sure I would be inviting a predator! I was in the mill the other day and a few guys were talking about the wolf that they have seen around here! I am in awe of wolves...I hope they wouldnt come and eat my chickens....I want them to eat some of the coyotes though! Sure wish they would eat the raccoons!
Hey Jim...I am going to take a look at Javas as a breed...I might have to get some of those from you at the bash. I think I am going to be bringing many kennels with me! (and FMs that I borrowed last year) Gotta go and take DS22 to the bus stop. Then I dont have to go all the way to Milwaukee to drop him off! Better get some eggs together for him to take along! Oh my gosh I HURT!!!!

I guess fatty here needs to get into shape!

We had HAIL this AM, about the size of a dime. Some Thunder/Lightning and lots of freezing sleet??? It was weird looking; the first storm looked like it was snow, but it was little ice balls.... but not like hail... the second storn there was no doubt about it being hail!!! And of course the silly ducks just sat out there and let the hail hit them on the head.



So, eggs and antibiotics. How long do I have to keep tossing the eggs???



Everyone have an ice cream sundae today!!!! It is National Ice Cream Sundae Day!!!!

Off to Fleet today to get more mealworms for the ducks, charcoal, and some budgie food.

I have a second corned beef simmering away on the stove for dinner tonite! Yummy!!!!! Now maybe at some point today I will bake another cake out of TO's book!
