Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Morning All!
Well I stayed over Friday night at my barn owners, since the family still doesn't want her alone at night.
Drove like mad to meet up with my client so we could go look at the Midwest horse fair 4h tack sale...he had a couple he liked, but they didn't jump out at him.
I think all of the stuff we brought to sell, did sell. Should have priced some some stuff higher.. but oh well. LOL

He had to leave to meet his DW to have an estimate done on residing their home...it was badly done 5 yrs ago, and needs a complete redo.. that has to SUCK!
He came back and didn't meet up with me for about another 2 hours.
In the process I lost my water bottle, my camera.. which I am hoping has been found...
But going back late Sat afternoon to the tack sale I found the score of the century!!
A Stubben english saddle for 115.00...

This type of saddle is the equivalent of a Porsche!!! for those non horsie people! LOL

I am off to go get a horse trailer to start our move.

good morning all, not much has happened since the last time I posted.. just have another dozen assorted eggs to set.

got the 3 new guinea babies in the tv brooder. we have a white bottom in there,, If it weren't for their black eyes we couldn't see them..

yesterday I had a small novel written on here and it went POOF !! I thought it was my MSN system that caused it..

the lady who wants the tom turkeys emailed me.. said she was going to call this afternoon.. might take two of them..

dave, is that a window peeker in the photo ? make sure that window is in TO's half of the room.. that should cure him..LOL

It's a gorilla from the waterproof covering, forgot the brand, tyvek type product, he is gone, now, just painted coat one. It is so blasted hot in the, around 90, had all the windows closed up,
Not gonna tell you the color but it will go with your purple shag rug. Hopefully can put on second and final coat later today.

Dr Ha ha, I think it moved too. Not your eyes

Good morning everyone--the SUN is out!!!

Must love hens...you have got to enter that pic in the cutest chick contest on the Easter hatch thread! I think there are good prizes too! I love the little yellow masks on your quail. I have a white one with a spot on his head and a ring around his neck but he doesnt have that mask. Very cute!
Jim --cool about the purple shag! I think we should get together and make it purple and red (my fave color) then we could go for a nice theme like the old Gobbler in Johnson Creek. They had the carpeting going up the walls. Very interesting place--anyone ever go there? It is for sale now....

Got my fingers crossed for your eggs/chicks DrH!

Went to the HF yesterday in that miserable weather! Cant ever remember it being so nasty. We bought really NOTHING in the exhibit hall. A new crystal for my car, some almonds and show pad for DD. THen we went to the colliseum and watched for a while, toured a few barns and went out to supper. A very uneventful day. When we tried to go to the 4H sale it was already closed...guess we should have gone earlier--but there was really nothing that we needed I guess. DD needs new breeches and a white show shirt but is very particular and the breeches have to be a certain brand for the riding team. Did I tell you that they qualified for Nationals? Pretty cool. We met some friends while walking around and they told us about 10 jumpers who came to ride in the show that had 2010 Coggins papers so they sealed them all in a barn and didnt let them show. I guess WI is a state that has a law that Coggins need to be done in January and other states you have a year from the date drawn. THat sure would be a bummer after traveling all that way. It is the barn that had the 4 top winners last year too!

I sold 5 Muskovy drakes this morning to a man from Milwaukee. I am really getting down on drakes now. IT would have been 6 but a sneaky one got out of the pen while I was tying up a bag! So he got a reprieve...I think I only have 4 left now including him. I didnt have the heart to sell the mule...I guess I just like him too much and he has such a nice little quack!
I sure hope the neighbors werent trying to sleep in today...my guineas were across the road in the woods making all kinds of racket! I dont know why they were so loud...I think maybe their cat was out? I sure hope they arent nesting up there!
Well--gotta drink some more coffee and then feed inside birds. Think I will move the chicks I hatched down to the basement with he others today...those wheaten Ameracaunas sure are friendly birds! They are all over my feet when I step into the pen! The roo has a totally yellow face--I think I might have already said that he reminds me of a bald-faced horse...unless that was the message that *poofed!*
Have a fantastic day everyone...it is pretty warm here--might be heading to the dog park later. Terri O

:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy See I told you, you did everything right, hopefully they all hatch soon
Terri O, sorry about the red, I got a different color, but it matches really nicely with the purple shag. Maybe Jim has enough to carpet the walls too. I went to the gobbler once as a kid, The best of 60-70's decor money could buy and the food wasn't bad, considering I was 8 LOL . As for the lactating, I think they sell pads to prevent those embarrassing spots.

Should I stop on the way and get you a box??

Yes Yes and maybe a pump for chicken milk. L's on her way home from Delavan. She said she was gonna talk to them in her higher voice to get em moving. Have to call her back and give her the news. Told her I was wore out and was going eat something and try and nap, not happin now. Think a nice cold Pointer is on the menu now. Gotta go!

Can anyone help me out by pointing me to the WI regulations on selling eggs? I have 30 hens and my understanding is that I can sell them from my farm. Can I also take them to a farmers' market and sell them there or do I need to be somehow licensed or registered or certified to do that?

Also, off topic a little, but similar questions with vegetables. I know I can sell from a roadside stand and at a farmer's market. Can I sell commercially to a restaurant or retailer, or do I need some license, registration or certification to do that?

Thanks in advance.
