Good morning! I am amazed at the blue sky...just makes any day more happy!
Of course I have a client this morning, but then I am going directly to walk the dog so I will have the afternoon to "play" around here. After all the straightening up I did in the house yesterday it doesnt look a whole lot better...
At least the floors arent crunchy any more!
for your chicks BCC! That would be darn disappointing to have a box of well, you know....
BL4--hasnt any one ever told you not to count your ducks before they have hatched?
I hope you have some babies to bring too. My trio has 5 eggs now...but only one nest. I did see them mating yesterday so they should be fertile. I thought she was going to drown...they were mating in the deep pool and he barely let her head come above the water! Sassy boy! I still dont have names for them. I think you did but I have forgotten what they were...they are collectively "Little Guys." THey are much more cooperative than the Muskovies too; they now have the idea that they have to go back into the stall for the night. I still have to put them in though. I think they hunt for worms and stuff in the grass at night!
ODrH--
for your hatch! GLad to hear that your chicks arrived safe! That is funny about the PO--I can get a letter to my Mom and Dad in Milw overnight but if I send one to my friend in Jefferson it takes 2 days? Crazy! The chicks I got from you a while back are pretty much grown up! I still cant tell if I have two roos on the Cuckoos though! I think one is still deciding!
The bantams...what are they again? I know I contacted the lady you got the eggs from and they are SQ stock...but I forgot the name! They are so tiny!
Jim--I sure would come and help you with your tractor! I could at least pass you a cold one when you needed it!
I have a question for you too...any idea why the birds I got from you at the swap are 2 different sizes? It is very strange that about 1/4 of them are small and the others are really big! They are all supposed to be the same right? THe chicks that I hatched 3 weeks later are larger than some of yours! Like I said...strange things going on at this farm! Cant wait to see what they turn out like.
DrH--I see a nap in your future for today! You have had a few rough days havent you?
Hopefully things will go smoothly for the rest of the week and weekend! I laughed about HM pizza (with ham) for Easter! Very non-traditional!
Good luck with your prep H&R! I am glad we are going to Appleton to my brother's place. I have to bring a veggie platter...was going to make a bread bunny like in my cookbook...but then I'd have to do two...I cant imagine having both sides of our family here! Only if we ate out in the barn!
Well, off to work for me! Talk later and as always; have a fantastic day! Terri O
(PS) no peeping of pips for me yet either ODrH. Can I send in a "stink eye" pic of my cat?
