Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

WOW DK sounds like tons of fun with the new potential house.. NOT..ack...
he.gif

I am surprised Dr. H isn't on here, I am not even trying to catch up on things. I have to go unload the truck, go to Evansville to get a tow dolly... well first I have to call to see IF they have one and
see if its available....
Then go get my car at the shop.. still won't run... grrrr.....
IF not it has to go to scrap.. double grrr...
then go to the barn and feed chickens, go to clients barn and clean that up.. put horses in pastures to run a bit and observe them to make sure everyone is playing nice...
Busy busy....

dk The seller is responsible for the septic passing inspection. The house can't be sold as is. Good Luck! So many things said that I can't remember so I won't try too nice to be sittin here. Got 1/3 of the garden preweeded yesterday my boots came out of there 10lbs heavier than when I went in.

Hey all!

Well I have seedlings!!
wee.gif
Radishes are up, spinach and maybe pok choy? Seeing as I took AWESOME notes on where I planted stuff...It is either the arugula or pok choy. I also found that my "sprinkling" of seeds was a terrible idea, as all they did was pool together when watered in, so I'll have to thin more than I wanted. Sigh. I am going to make toilet paper seed tape, so I don't have to thin radishes/carrots etc. for my fall planting.

I also planted the dooming amount of onions I have. Two more rows of onions from Home Depot, and 2 rows of copras I got from Johnnys. I am eager to see how the Home Depot onions do, as if they do well I paid practically nothing for them compaired to the copras. I have no idea what variety they are, but I grabbed one bunch yellow and one bunch white. Which is which, I have no idea as the bundles weren't labeled!

I had a "ah-ha" moment last night as I was looking at a packet of asian yard long beans and sighing cause I had nooo where to plant them. My weed garden has that terrace that Ed put up for our grapes (or lack there of) and there is about 6" of soil on the other side of this terrace...Well. Why not plant them on the back of the terrace so they can go up? I have blue berries and a grape planted along the front..but blueberries don't climb and the grape probably isn't going to climb this year...and then the compost bin covers part of it. So that way I am not technically using any garden space, and can plant 4 (4!!) bean plants that I had no room for at all and was going to skip this season!

I wish I had more Ah-ha moments, but I am pretty proud of this one.

Sounds like everyone is super busy hatching chickens and turks! I am alone on this. Although we are getting duck eggs, no hatching out til we move and I can give them a muuuch bigger area

Or until I know for sure its one of the scovies laying!!

Hey all!

Good to see you back Bigz! Glad you are healing well!

dk1-I hope the owners of the house pay for that septic issue. I agree with DrH. The seller has to fix it. Good luck!!

Welcome to the new members!

Got most of the fence supports painted today. Just have the 8' sections to paint. Posted our 1950 Plymouth for sale on craigslist so hopefully we can sell the dear car so I can make the garage into a wintering ground for the Girls and the rabbits.

Good news! I had my yearly cardiologist appointment today complete with my kinda- sorta- annual-ish- depending- on- the -fidings Echocardiogram. My Doc will read the echo and let me know how it went but he gave me a good report card and I'll see him next year! Atleast he didn't panic like the doctor I had in 04. (That was not fun watching a "professional" doctor freak out while looking at your Echo and trying to decide wether to call the ambulance for emergency sugery right then and there or wait to talk to the Pediatric Specialist. The Pediatric Specialist won out and I did not have to take an ambulance ride-just scheduel surgery for a month later!) Im super lucky and the Doc liked what he "heard" and how I looked and such, so I got another pass for a yearly check up!!! Yeah!

Well, gotta jet dh is hungery and I gotta go feed him. TTFN!!

man do I have to go back and read, I've missed the last couple of days.

we FINALLY got the main coop cleaned out

I don't know what I am doing yet when it omes to posting. I was looking for some dates that there are meet and greets or other opportunities to buy one or two hens. I thought this was an upcoming event, sorry. I did not realize that it was last year. Sorry if I confused anyone. Any suggestions for me?

Welcome Dooner!! Nice to have you here!!

Try this link:

http://www.uwex.edu/ces/animalscience/poultry/events.cfm

It goes to a list of all the swaps for the year. You can also check out the American Poultry Association website for a list of chicken shows. These will ususally have a sale area for those people who are selling off their extra stock. What are you looking for as far a breeds go? Some one here might have what your looking for....
