That's wonderful! I am so happy to hear that she survived. I know how worried you were about her.
I'm so glad you got her to eat something. You two are doing a great job!

What is the name of your wildlife rescue guide? That sounds like something I would like to look into.
Guess I'll shut up now.

Well hello fellow wisconsiners. I am new to the forum and looking to make good connections. If there is anybody on here that has blue copper marans I would love to talk.

mikej32782! And welcome to the WI thread. So happy you could join us. There are alot of very nice, helpful people here. I hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do.

Irises are some pretty hardy plants. I got a bunch from Fordmommy last summer. She has a yard full of them, and they're beautiful. All we did was put the shovel in the middle of the bunch and split it right in half. All of the plants I got from her survived. I don't remember where I put each color, so it's getting to be a surprise everytime one blooms. Right now I've got purples opening.

FM is a great person, we've gotten to be pretty good buds. We've actually known of each other for quite some time, but just crossed paths and became friends a little over a year ago. Her DS and my DD were in the same preschool class and their birthdays are less than 2 weeks apart.

As far as ACV, we love using it here. We use it when I remember to, it's a great immune system booster. Plus my chickens seem to really like the taste of it.

All of the new critters seem to be integrating really well around here. I put the BO's in a cage inside the coop with the others yesterday and let them out to play today and nobody even seemed to notice their presence. Maybe they're still a little off with their pecking order after losing the others that it didn't make a bit of difference. I was a bit worried about the Royal Palms, as a couple were looking kinda weak yesterday, so I gave them some electros and they've perked up quite a bit. Unfortunately they were too perky last night when we were trying to sleep

. Needless to say, they'll probably be moved into their very own coop this evening.

We haven't gotten any bad critters in our traps yet, but DH relocated my coop camera outside, so hopefully we'll catch something. It has sound on it so I'm keeping it cranked up. Maybe I can hear the chickens going nuts if something attacks.

I agree on the irises being really hardy. DH dug up a ton of them for me because grass was growing in between them & mom wanted some. I split & ripped those things apart & they all survived.
I am so glad everyone is getting along by you, Friz. I let my little (not so little anymore) ones out to run around with the ladies, and the ladies didn't pay any attention to them. Maybe it was too hot for them to care. I think I'm going to wait a few more days before I integrate them full-time into the rest of the flock.
I am so glad you haven't had any more incidents. I really hope whatever it was has since moved on & does not return. Those cameras are wonderful.

Greetings all,

Hope you are all staying cool. The girls are asking for a window air conditioner, right now they will have to be happy with the sun umbrella and cold water to keep them cool. Hopefully they will be ok in the unseasonable heat.
This weekend I redid half of their summer run, the metal fence poles wasn't sturdy enough.
this coming weekend I will do the other half. I think my roo, is starting to practice crowing. It looks like I have another wyandotte roo too. Figures they are my favorites. Oh well
new chickens next year.

Here are the pics enjoy

Evening all!!
Thanks for the ACV info everyone! That is some great info!!!

Welcome mikej! Hope to see you on the forum!

Frizzler-I'll keep my fingers crossed on the trapping....I hope you get a critter!

Bigz-My carrots did not sprout!

I'm jealous that yours did!!

Shanti- I'm so glad that you got that dove to eat. Years ago I had a riding mentor whose Aunt, Ann rescued a morning dove that flew into a window and broke her wing. Ann nursed her back to heath and she lived to be about 15 or 20 years old. Morning Doves are one of my favorite birds! I hope she makes it!!

So, man was it hot! Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter! The rabbits needed two frozen water jugs today and the indoor rabbit needed one as well. The chickens complained about the heat pretty much all day and let me know that they were not happy!

I am so ready for fall to get here!!

Fred got his doggie "tune up" at the vet today and he did great. He gets very car sick so we have been working on getting him over that. It helped at lot that we got a van with lots of windows for the dogs to go "bye rides" in. I'll post a Fred picture since he is the coolest dog and my favorite! *whispers-shhhhh! Don't tell the other dogs!!!*
Tomorrow is Gracie's turn to go to the vet for her "tune up".

Here is Fred. He is a Corgi Queensland Heeler and was from Tehachapi CA. I think he is 4 this August....Maybe 5. Anyway here he is :

Celt, that is an EE Roo from the first batch of eggs I ever hatched. He is not too bad to his owners, but is protective of his girls when strangers are around. I would not want to be on the receiving end of those spurs!!!!!!!!!!

Baby #2 is doing ok.... still sleeping a lot but out of the shell and trying to hobble around.

Dornes, where were you when I had my kids! I would have LOVED to have a pro taking pics when my babies were born!!!! You should send some business cards to my midwife....... I hate when you are replying on the board' that it does not tell you where people are from under their user name!!! UGH!

Ok, off to burn some marshmallows with the family.
