Okay guys - I tried to go back and read through what I've missed, but y'all are a chatty bunch!

Busy week here - work was horrible, we had people not showing up and not calling, so I got stuck covering some shifts, and Will and I have been going to a bunch of auctions in the area - my most exciting buy so far was an antique leather-covered wooden trunk in good condition (some water damage on the top, but it's a GORGEOUS piece) that still has BOTH inner trays for $4!!! Can you believe it!?

And then we had some drama with his best friend - the one that got engaged to a girl he's been dating for 3 DAYS - well, he brought her over to our place the other night for dinner and she's like 5 MONTHS PREGNANT! WITH TWINS!

I guess he'd been sneaking around with her while he was with his previous girlfriend, and when she told him she was expecting he dumped that girlfriend, started "officially" dating her, and set a wedding date, all within 3 days. But that's not even what the "drama" we had was about. I didn't really talk much when they were over (I was in SHOCK), and I didn't say a single word directly to her, but I guess when they left she starts telling her finacee that she and I "got into it" and that I said all kinds of derogatory things about them, that I called him "retarded" - and remember, I barely spoke the whole time they were at out house, and I was only alone with her for about 3 minutes, during which time I pretended to have some pressing business on my cell phone! So where the heck did all that come from?!?!

Anywho - needed to rant about that someplace. I feel better now.

And the whole reason I decided to hop on BYC tonight anyways, is because my last batch of ducklings due to hatch before the bash this weekend is done hatching! Unfortunately, this hatch AND the next one (due July 1st) are both dismal failures.

Out of around 50 eggs, I got 3 Call ducklings out of this hatch, and there's one or two developing for the July 1st hatch. Everything else was either clear or quit.

And NO White Calls at all, Terri

- this last hatch, I got a Blue Fawn, a Black Bibbed, and my VERY FIRST Chocolate Bibbed.

SO - here's what I'll have to bring along for the bash, if anyone wants them:

Call ducklings (too young to sex) - 1 Blue Fawn, 3 Blue Bibbed, 1 Mallard-Grey (IF anyone expresses an interest in the Grey one, because I kinda like that one

)
Call Juveniles - 1 Blue female, 1 Blue Bibbed drake, 1 Blue Fawn drake, 1 Black Bibbed Drake
Dutch Hookbill - 8 ducklings, mostly solid Dusky, but a couple with small bibs
Columbian Cochin - 1 pair, roo is April '10 hatch, pullet is November '10 hatch and hasn't laid an egg yet.
White Cochin - I have a trio of Judy Gantt Whites, 2 years old. Need heavy trimming or artificial insemination to breed, and I'm tried to dealing with it. PM me if interested.

No Stanbridge Whites because the one little girl I had hatched to keep for next year got snatched by a raccoon last week.

So I have to raise up the SW ducklings I have right now to try to get another girl...but none of them will ever replace little Daisy...she was barely fully feathered yet.

Eggs... I seem to have "missing" eggs, on average a bit smaller and today someone laid a shelless one. Yep... weird!

ad news on the asparagus. It needs to be split in the fall.

I did get a few roots from what I was stepping on and your welcome to try to get them to go, but not near as much as what I planed on bringing.

From what the neighbor said, that bed had been there since he was a kid, so it's well over 25 years old, maybe older! Needs thinning! Mybe I should rip the whole thing up this fall and replant it.

I will bring other stuff though.

Another Wet Morning All! Finally turned the dehumidifier on. Everything feels wet. Cind it was one for the memory bank wish I would have had a camcorder going! I can still see it in my head. I showed Laura the slide marks in the poo.

Glad to hear the van is up and running! We need to talk about asparagus at the Bash I have some questions. SF sounds like your going to have a new close friend!

Hope everyone made it through the storms unscathed! bl4 think L will be at the head of the line for a piece of that pie cherry it's her fav! As far as scent one that doesn't smell like me would be great!

Kinda glad to hear that others are getting shorted on their eggs too, it's been pretty weird. Have an idea raim for the blurb or balloon for next year T's remind me it's kinda racey. Jim glad you got your new motor installed! And congrats on the quail hatch! CC made a double batch of noodles for our fam reunion last year had so many complaints that I didn't make enough. One of the older fam members used to make a huge batch but she couldn't do it anymore so I started making them. Guess I have to step up even more. Bringing a triple batch to the Bash.

Making the sauce for the Q's today will brown the meat tomorrow. It's gonna be real hard for me to make a mild batch. No onions or grn pepper.

There is no shortage of cilantro this year seems that the stuff that went to seed really did well. Running out of time for wood shed deadline of the end of June, need about 6 days to finish it up. Gee looks like rain again

Lots of things to do better get a move on! This is gonna be so much fun!

DrH, no green peppers or onion? that doesn't make it spicey, I give you permission to put them in there! If you think some will whine, i mean, have a problem seeing them, just run them through your blender with a tiny bit of water and pour them in the BBQ. Shhhhh noone will notice!

Well I fed client horses, put dogs out and then in, and was in town to start watching my niece at 7 am this morning.
I have to go to the DOT to get our plate renewals taken care of.. a few weeks late...
SO my summer 'job' starts... being a nanny to my niece.

Good flavor with just a hint of tang. Going out to cut some more cilantro now that it's standing upright after yesterdays rain beatdown. First harvest of the year! Thinking about 15 pacs will hold us through the winter. I love my gardens!

But they need to be bigger.

Hi everyone! What a rain last night. I have a bucket in the barn under a hole in the roof and it was two inches full this morning!

That's alot of rain. Glad to here everyone faired well through the storms yesterday. SF- I hate people like that and honestly the younger they are sometimes the worse they are. Dont get me wrong, people twice your age can be just as bad too. Well good luck with that. DrHa- Im with you, Ive only been getting 2 to 5 eggs a day. I was thinking they are hiding them, but even when I locked them up for a day, still only 3. Maybe it's that time of year. Glad to hear Im not the only one.
Well today I am going to Orthopedic Associates of Wis for my externship interview. I'm so excited!!!

I know they have already accepted me and thats were I'm going, but I would like to get a job there when I'm done. It's the number one ortho clinic in WI and exactly what I want to do. It doesn't hurt they pay well too. Wish me luck that I can impress my future boss. Well I'm off to make myself presentable. Maybe wash off the chicken stink.

Oh and put on a skirt, if I can find one. Later Tators!
