Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

fordmommy I'll try. But you know my puter skills aren't the best. It''ll be maybe a week I'm on 12's and will probably work through the weekend too. It's a killer. Not much time, just enough to take care of the kids, eat, shower, and go to bed. So in the mean time tell him he's doing very well and is taking very good care of his girls. I pet and talk to him every day. It's easy cause he's on top of the nest boxes with the girls after dark. No catching him. He still has to have the last word when I walk out even in the dark. Puts a tired smile on my face every time. It took awhile but he's caught on to the treat bucket. When I bring an extra bucket out with me the girls know. I'd toss it in the coop or run and it's a free for all and he'd just stand there with a what the heck is going on look on his face but now he gets right in there with the girls. If you ever get over this way again you'd better bring him along. Your all welcome anytime!Gee I hope BCC will talk to us now that he's a published wriitter.

Most awesome! They're about 5 mins away from me. I think I'll have to pop in and pick up a catalog while we're out doing errands today! Besides, I need to work on my seed order too. (Like I need an excuse to go to Jung's!) It's always fun to see your name in print though, isn't it?

Good morning everyone! Dr HaHa...up loading pics is really easy one here; Heck, you did an avatar pic and I STILL cant figure that one out! My pictures are always too big even if I downsize them with the sizing thing on the upload page...I just dont get it! Bright and sunny in the Madison area today...I am so glad! i have to go to work in about 30 minutes though but driving is so much better when the sun is out...long day too.
DH will be home tonight from Green Bay...I hope he doesnt look in the big truck! I have to take it and vacuum it out tomorrow when I have time. I lost 4 bales on the highway driving the load home yesterday and I had no choice but to put them in the cab with me! I felt that I was driving a hay mow! Sure smelled good though! I never mind a bit of hay in my truck, but he is SO WEIRD about it!!! Oh well, hopefully he wont have to take it anywhere!

Terri O, we were driving out to Cottage Grove Saturday (to get duck eggs, actually!) and the truck in front of us dropped several bales of hay but did not stop to pick them up off the beltline. We were all having to drive around them until a Sheriff finally pulled the person over. He was driving with his hazards on and didn't have the back of the truck secured in any way.

I'm so very grateful to see the sun today. Yesterday was so dreary.

I'll talk, actually I'm on my way outside to see if I can get some of my pen cleaned up a little, now with the warmer weather its getting nasty in there, and put wood shavings under the chicks they have been on paper towel long enough,

i've got a question. i'm buying 6 chickes next week from MPC. only allowed 4 but sneaking in 5, maybe 6. the reason for 6 is just incase 1-2 pass or they are roos. my question is, should my coop be 5'x4' or 5'x5'? with attach run it will be 5'Wx12'L. what are your suggestions?

Had a free minute in between paper work and taking care of the animals.

Our test run incuabtion is over and our 4 year old is the proud owner of 3 baby chicks(he gets help from us of course)names yet to be decided! The 4th egg died somewhere along the last few days and might have been do the misshaps with the incuabtor and such. We will be doing a few modifications to the incubator especially with the themostat-we have order a wafer thermostat and hope it will be here yet this week.

Here is a picture of the 3 chicks

Have a great day everyone!

They are sooo cute. I can't wait to have some of my own.

When I bought my bator the other day, I had Buck Creek Chickens help me pick the one that was best for me. It was more money, but it doesn't have the waffer therm. She said that was hard to work with. Here's the one I ordered. I will have it forever. I can wait to get it. And YES. I shopped around online. This was the best deal. And you get the egg turner and quail eggs. All the others like this ran about $125-$200 but you had to buy the egg turner seperate. And that runs $50-$65.

P.s. And free shipping.

thanks for the info, we will have to look at it-from reading all the different posts it seems like different thermostats work differently for each person's set up. We have a modified hot water heater thermostat and it worked great until we must of bumped it switching out the turner for the basket at lockdown.

Good luck with your incubator and keep us posted!
