Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey all! Kim I love that brown and white speckled one! What a cute hen! The people are watching Dexter...this will be short! This program grosses me out for sure.

Me and Peggy went for a ride and it was fun! Commander was a bit skittish (who could blame him?) about crossing the water tonight.....I got him across though! He was great! It took a long time to get my friends' mare into the trailer to send her on the way though. I let her take my truck and trailer home....just so I didnt have to take her home I guess...we will ride here again on Tuesdayit if it is nice. DH was not pleased...I say GET OVER IT! LOL!

OK--Time for me to go and make some popcorn...you know that is my Sunday night supper!

Back from the Land of Lincoln! Great trip, total surprise party and the costumes were GREAT! Ate way too much, drank way too much, but had a VERY good time hanging out with family!

It was 60* this morning at 9, felt like a nice spring day! Amazing for December!

Ghost, good luck. DH just said to me that one of the major issues over there are the number of JERKS who work there. Not surprising things have not changed in 15 years........................ and no, complaining to the 'boss' will not do any good. They will just tell you to suck it up.

Sorry Big Z, I will get back to you asap...... just busy and going to get REALLY busy. Found out my cousins want to come visit at Christmas...... so the house is going to get the MASSIVE clean out. Time to dump the junk and do the Fall cleaning!!!

Only 6 pages, so not too bad..

TerriO are ya talking about the last picture?
that is my EE 18 week old Angela, she lays me the prettiest blue egg, of all my EE's no green tint.... pure blue ........ she is also my favorite because of her color, only got 1 like her, 5 R the buff brown with white.... still pretty tho .....and only got 5 chipmunks, the prettiest babies.
Or are ya talking about miracle chicken Snowflake the SS who was suck under the wood pile for 3 weeks....... shes a hatchery bird way too much white but I think she is beautiful none the less, and such a sweet girl, friendly talkative and loves to investigate everything including herself in the mirrored front of my stove, that is who she was fighting with when she had her hackles all poofed up....hehehe she also is a good forager and layed me a nice cream colored Medium egg everyday until the incident.

Packer Sunday Win Again.... Nothing new here today....simply church and football all day. Watching the boys get beat right now, i hope!

I realize how busy you are bl4. I'll make a run over there when it works for you. I'll only take a minute or so and be on my way again. This can be a busy time of year for sure.

Hope to finish the trunk on the big elm in the woods tomorrow. It will be a job for sure. Huge tree for sure, and prolly a face in the 12 feet left to cut. I just can't allow that to lay there through winter.

Nice pics ghost. You should go to Rubys pantry for food like everyone else does around here. Once a month for $15 you get boxes of food...anyone that has gone there goes back month fter month. Just take everything that is offered and you won't believe your eyes

It's the 22 this month at 8am at the old pick and save just south of fleet farm...suzie will be there as well as others in the family...anyone who is hungry is welcome to be blessed.

The chickens are going on coop arrest. I have gotten no eggs to 2 eggs for the last 4 days. Seeing as how all my chickens (except two) are under a year old, there shoud be no reason for the complete drop off. They discovered the woods this week behind the shed/coop. I have a suspicion that the brush in there is WAY more fun to lay eggs in. I'm not going to be able to fill to my few egg orders this week!

I moved the chicks into the brooder in the coop. I'm going to have to come up with a CHEAP way to heat their water. a few weeks back i bought a heated bucket for the goats, a heated of bowl for the ducks and a heated base for the chickens h20. I still don't have anything for the silkies water... advice on the cheapest way to do this?

Jim... Did you know that by cutting out the orange juice all together (all juice actually), having old fashioned slow cooking oatmeal for breakfast everyday, and donuts once a week, you can lose 10 lbs in a month? It's not a fad diet. It's just the juice is where you were really doing yourself injustice. The donuts once a week not a huge deal. That's what we call moderation. Try EASING into this change in diet phase. For one month, follow these three things. Don't weight yourself for the 30 days. On day 31, take off all your clothes, gingerly step on the scale before having breakfast, and see what happens. You might be pleasantly surprised! (And if I'm wrong, I'm sure you'll tell me!)

OSHA got my hubby this last week. We can expect the ticket to be $3,500-$5,000. Yeah, things are NOT looking up over here...

here are a couple of shots of last winter's snow gradually sliding off the west lean to roof..
just thought I'd remind those of you who forgot what winter is like..

all that lumber piled under that roof is red oak off of one tree.. It represents about 1/4 of the wood we got from that tree.. the stump is 49 inches across.. the first branch was 20 inches..

and for the newbies.. these are Royal Palm turkeys.. they think they own the deck..

I had a call tonight from a guy who bought a hen from me.. she layed 12 eggs, sat on them for one day and then flopped over dead.. this guy wants to buy 2 more hens on Wednesday..

I am going in for lazer surgery tomorrow afternoon.. just one eye this time and the other one in a few weeks..

TerriO's team won big time today..

the diet is going fine.. I did not feel starved today.. Annie brought me grapes to snack on.. they are good appetite supressers..
