Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi,
I'm still new to this and I figured since I made a great meal I figured I'd share the idea of cooking

Pheasant roulade with Red wine sauce and sautéed mushroom bacon Brussels sprouts.
I know this isn't chicken but pheasant. but it could have been easily been chicken. Also I did use my fresh eggs my girls have been laying to help bind the roulade together. Hopes every ones Saturdays supper is great!

Hey all!

Back from house hunting and I am exhausted! Out of 8 houses, we saw 2 that were ok. One was in WI and the other here in IL. Both houses were priced similarly, but the one here had fencing and 2 barns plus chickens, llamas and alpacas.

Nice day out today. Tyler helped me clean out both coops, add a new heated base for the juvenile building's waterer. Tomorrow, plan to pullorum test everyone since everyone is old enough and I'm at a pretty low number to get it done. Want to get the flock NPIP'd. Wish you could buy that antigen in something under 1000 doses, gets expensive that way. :p Maybe I'll split it up to smaller batches and sell some of it to offset the cost.

Chickens are doing good. The lavender bantams gave me an egg today, haven't seen one in a couple months. Lights must be working. Molt is almost over, so I'm expecting the eggs will be rolling soon.

Tyler had a ball picking up the "Kevins", petting them, and putting them down to catch another one. (Had a single chick hatch and in the house for a long time named "Kevin". Now all chickens are called "Kevins", LOL.)

OK, got my leg bands set out, found my testing box, got the forms filled out. Look out chickies, the blood sucker is coming after you tomorrow. :)

Hurley, I wouldn't mind splitting some of that antigen with you once I go through the testing training this spring. I had heard that it's expensive and you can't buy it in small quantities.

What's the shelf life on it?

I need to do it myself..what class you going to in spring? I think I have to go to the one in Madison. Not sure..there might be one in Milwaukee I forgot when I looked it up. I would be interested in splitting too. I was looking at leg bands and I think I am going with the new zip tie idea using the marker. FF does not carry leg bands anymore.

Evening To All... glad you got the ollie back before the snow flies Jim.

Nice supper josh...we had venzun bbq's with baked potatoes and fresh buttercup squash. Suzie thought I didn't really need a 4th bbq...

seemed like the thing to do...mighty tasty!

If the roads are decent Monday will work bl4...if not tuesday for sure...I'll give you a call tomorrow after church before noon.....if you're not home, I'll call later.

Looks like the game is the late one tomorrow. Sure hope the pack can pull off another win.

Went and cut a tree for mom and us today....went really smooth for a change. We found two trees right away and didn't have to hardy search at all. Set moms up in the stand for her and did the same here. We opt for a small one and place it on the coffee table in the front window. From the outside it looks like a full size tree. Works for us anyway.

Good luck bigfam with your child. We have friends that have children with autism...I am at awe at their ability to handle the situations sometimes. Prayers sent your way.

I didn't really mean to complain about the vet bills CC. I sure wish that he would improve more than he has though. Folks with totally healthy animals are lucky for sure. It would be so easy to just put him down...if he wasen't such a nice boy. I realize it's not his fault, and we are the caretakers. Onward and forward we go!

Here is a link to where they will post the date for next year. This posting is still last years date. There is contact info there. I emailed and got on their mailing list. I believe it's been held in Hancock in recent years.
