Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

http://datcp.wi.gov/Animals/Poultry/index.aspx - a good set of links to the forms needed to get certified either as a Wisconsin Tested Flock (free) or NPIP, along with a list of Wisconsin testers by county, so you can find someone local, if needed. I mostly got certified to be able to test my own flock and my kids' birds when they are old enough to show.

Yes, I know my local tester and I have all the forms..I was just being selfish and thinking of the split and meeting another BYCer..I will just take the class, and do my birds later, thanks for the information.

Congrats on gettng Ollie back, Jim. Somehow I don't think you need to worry about the speedometer.

Once it gets cold enough, you'll be able to see when it's running.

Bigz, I never once thought you were complaining.

I know all too well how a sick kitty can rack up one heck of a vet bill, is all. I hope he is feeling much better for you.

Not much new here. DH & I did manage to get in a few hours of snuggle time with Ramses & the rest of the kids tonight. We must be getting cooler temps: the 3 older ones all piled on us right away, and this morning I was surrounded when I woke up. Couldn't have rolled over if I wanted to. But I didn't want to. It was toasty. Time to head back there and be the kitties heating pad. Sweet dreams, all!

good early AM, late PM, just got home.. no snow yet..

late Pack game tomorrow.. should have plenty of snow by then.. these storms that build up slow are the good ones.

.just ate an orange straight from Fla.. hard to peel, but soooo tasty..

I wanted to comment about that dog killing that chicken.. I think it is unreasonable for the chicken owner to request they get rid of their dog.. If it happens again,, well,, then it is a different story..
If they refused to take $$$ for the chicken,, then just apologize and forget it.. keep the dog home..

Hi All!

DrH... Learning how to get along with other cats is one of the things that kittens learn when they spend enough time with mom (or other critters) about the time get weened. That's why I don't let my kittens go too soon. I kinda wish we had had a few mice around for her to train them for hunting, but by the time this batch was old enough, not may mice left.

CS.... Hope you find something.... remember we aren't far away, neither is delish! I'd be useless with more chores than what I have, but I'm sure you could get help if you needed it. If you come to SE corner of WI it wouldn't be too far for the kids to see their friends sometimes. When I was growing up the neighbor had llamas.... but I don't know much about them.

Delish..... I'm in Burlington/ Lyons... not far. Who do you know around here?

Jim... Glad Ollie is home! Gee... 21 bags of cans ... that about covers the gas to bring them in.

Josh.... Yumm that plate looks good! Many of my favorite things!

Hurley... that must have been so cute!

2nd son surprised me this afternoon! He brought a truck and trailer load of wood. Not seasoned yet but we threw it in the back to set till spring when we can split it. Then he went and got another load! It's Siberian Ash... so it's a pretty hard wood, they make flooring with it. A guy where my son works cut it down and is going to mill the trunk and make furniture. What we got was FREE. Can't beat free heating!

Well, got to go do chicken mash and try to sleep.... Night All!

GOOOD Morning Everyone! Watching the flurries increase. Sure seems strange getting sticking snow this far into winter. Bigz think the Pack will handle the Lions, want to watch the Bears game to see if the Queens can put any points on the board. We're heading to Wausau to watch the Bears/ Pack next weekend. Jim glad to hear the Ollie home and you can get it ready in time! Don't forget to hook up the remote starter! Snooze have been making lists for years. A lot of satisfaction in crossing things off! cs you'll make new friends, hopefully some chicken lovin ones that would be willing to sit for ya. Snowing harder now the kids better get their scratch cleaned up quick! Cindy they won't have any problems becoming mousers they play with about a dozen of those small fake ones alll the time. Toby brought one into bed around 11 it was promptly thrown into the living room.

Plus theirs a mountain of other toys for them. Toby snuck up to a sleeping Taz yesterday and fell asleep touching her. After an hour or so she woke up stretched and saw what had happened.

Laura made the best potato soup I've ever had last night. Don't think any of it will make it to the freezer.

Hello Cin..

I have purchased my Muscovy from Reagan. Her and her husband sell poultry at 7 mile fair. They are there every Saturday. When I breed for meat and have tons left and I have not sold them before they need to be butchered, I have sold there too. Sales can be pretty good.
