I think the snow queen, MLH, has the pheasant. Buzzy? And perhaps H&R too. I think they had to replace one because one escaped & they never caught it?

Judge, I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew, but you are exactly right. He has no idea how much worse it could have been. His injuries could have been permanent. Hugs & prayers for him.

DD, whereabouts in Oconto Co. are you?
we have a red-golden pheasant pair- we ended up replacing the male as the 1st one escaped and we weren't able to catch him- ours are considered ornamental and no extra premit is needed. MLH would probably have a better idea of this or her DH might.

Judge sorry to hear about your nephew but glad to hear that he will mend given time.

Evening All...ugly Packer win....but it beats a aloss for sure.

I raised phesants for years....nope you no longer need a game farm license to raise phesants...the law requiring that changed in 2002...alot of folks still have the old game farm signs up....I have one hanging in the basement to remember the good old days.

We always provided plenty of cover and never over crowded them. We never had a picking problem. They are very easy to raise in my opinion.

Prayers sent your way judge. It's always when you are having fun that stuff happens in seems.

Been eating pumpkin and apple pies it seems like forever so....I bought a can of cherry pie filling and suzie helped me out with a pie....oh my....it's wonderful....the poor pie is doomed! I wish I woulda bought a backup can....you know 2 is 1 and 1 is none!

Prolly 7" of the white stuff here...hope it melts soon. Not a fan of the stuff. Cleaning up snow is not fun to me. Think it was a three can job today!

Evening all,

Hope all is well, Bantams are still boring,LOL,
Judge, I hope your nephew recovers soon. So glad to hear he was able to call.

we got about 5 inches of snow, beautiful outside. We need to ground cover and the chows love it.

sleep well everyone

Good evening...kinda short on the posts today guys! LOL! roasting some root veggies in olive oil. Haveing them along with some venison steaks I found in the freezer, maybe some corn and a salad. The Duck, duck, soup needs another day. I was going to make some Indian chicken coconut curry stuff that I have a jar of simmering sauce (to make it easy) but I couldnt find the chicken breasts in the big freezer. Soooo, venison it is! The people are pretty happy with anything actually.
Jim I have a good recipe for egg foo yung...it sounds like you are doing it right...however you didnt mention any eggs....I will look for my recipe but I think it is the kind of thing that everyone makes it with what they have. Every time I have had it in a restaurant it has been different--only the "gravy" is the same. Now I am hungry for it and I will have to check and see if I can still make it! (thanks Buddy!)
My client was very crabby today...couldnt get him up for a shower or for lunch! Glad tomorrow is "my day off." Wonder if we will go riding? I think the grounds are probably too wet to ride...certainly not frozen yet.

Back after dinner...the venison was fantastic as was the rest of the dinner. Even DS23 commented! Now the peole have turned on MNFB and I will be heading out to do chores and then head up to my "sanctuary."
Here are a couple of pics...

This is the beginnings of duck, duck, soup:

Here we have scary things coming out of my chimney!

Now this one is odd...I didnt take it...I am thinking it is MXM creeping on my camera!

Here is my friend Peggy that is too shy to come onto BYC...she only has the internet at the library so she doesnt feel she can join! As you can see she is "good people" too...my critters love her!

And las (but certainly not least!) my herd of horses! They were all concerned when Peggy's horse was leaving in THEIR trailer! LOL!

So that's all I have....have a good night everyone! TerriOsicksicksickoffootball!

Hello everyone,

Well i was thinking about getting my DD some bantams for christmas. I like the Mille Fluer D'uccle. I am wondering what the difference between the D'uccle and the Cochin are?

Or do you all have a suggestion for a sweet bantam breed?

One other variable is I am thinking about slowly changing my coop to an all wyandotte coop, so the thought of bantam wyandottes is also an option for my mini me!

Ramses is still with us but getting him to eat is getting more challenging. The vet said it was due to the kidney failure.

Going to the store tomorrow to find more tasty kitty treasures. Sweet dreams, all!

good PM, TerriO,, I used 2 eggs.. for foo yong I figure the eggs are just a binder..

I need to come up with some sort of snack other than popcorn.. I almost grabbed a banana earlier.. whoops !! In the olden days (before last week) I would have had a PB&J or a nice banana split.. I did eat another of those Fla oranges .. they are real buggars to peel..

I am bored with TV.. I must come up with a hobby.. or this is going to be a very long winter..

You are all wonderful- thanks so much for the well wishes! Went to see him in the hospital today. He was pretty dopey- he has a morphine pain pump. Turns out the bone broke through his upper thigh near the groin area. They put in a rod from hip to knee. 6-9wks supervised care, and then 6-9 months before he can return to school. He was attending UTI in Illinois for auto mechanic. He won't be able to crawl under vehicles. Ugh- cried when I saw him out of relief. I had seen him earlier that day and told him I loved him, have a safe trip back, see you at Christmas...could have been the last time I saw him. Yucky feeing, but reminded me how important it is to kiss your kids and appreciate all the time you have. You just never know...
Anyway- the chickens were funny this morning. First time they had ever seen snow. Not all of them would venture out. We'll see what they do tomorrow.
The snow was soooo beautiful last night I had to take a few pictures. Hope you like them. Good night all!

Anyone out there have an elf on the shelf? The kids love it- here is "Icicle" watching from the light
