MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


I was very grateful that I have older children; I was able to pull of my 'Santa' routine before midnight AND they cherubs did not get up until around 8. Cinnamon rolls this morning for breakfast, along with out traditional Jewish breakfast of Lox, bagels, and cream cheese.....

Headed over to my sis's house around 11 and my BIL had grilled ham for us along with homemade pierogi. Kids have been wonderful, I think they were making up for the sins of last night in church.....

I have a tenderloin to make for dinner tonight. Debating on if we should grill it or roast it......

Amy, glad the soap was enjoyed! The smell will die off as it ages, eventually it will be a mild smell. It all smells that strong when it is fresh. BTW, I picked up Adobe Lightroom AND Elements..... I cannot wait to get going editing my pics! Now all I need to figure out is a watermark.....

When I empty eggs out I use a straw from a juice box stick it in the hole and blow on the straw. You only need a hole in one end and the air displaces the egg matter to force it out. The farther in you stick it, the better it works(here we go).

That being said I am definately trying the baby snot sucker thing next time..We have 2 kids and at least 6 of those booger do-hickeys.

thanks for the displacement idea.. I am still going to find a mechanical tool to use,, as of today, we have more than 50 eggs to blow out.. after 2 I get dizzy blowing by mouth..

DD#1 said to use the air compressor,, I would really have to cut the out pressure if I did that..
can't you just imagine blowing eggs UP instead of OUT ??

Hmmm,,, with displacement,, maybe I could use the compressor, I might just have to give it a try.. Outside, first..

Annie roasted a rooster from last year.. had squash, mashed potatoes & gravy, broccoli, creamed corn and cranberries.. No room for dessert......maybe a couple of Old Fashions in a little while..
Last night I was here all alone.. I made an Old Fashion in a root beer mug.. just the right size for starters...

we got all the birds into two coops tonight.. It was touch and go with the young turkeys who were never in a coop before.. took Annie and I both to herd them in.. they kept threatening to fly, but thankfully, they didn't .. One of the peahens did fly, though.. I think we were trying to force her into the wrong coop..

Merry Christmas everyone! Spent Christmas Eve day at my family's place in Minnesota and then stayed the night at my daughter's house in Amery, WI. Was great seeing the grandkids in the morning opening Santa's gifts! Very blessed!

, just returned home about an hour ago from our last Christmas and we are now all done for another year.....now jus to finish putting away all the stuff that the kids were given.

Just finished my piece of cherry pie(my mom made and brought for our Sunday gathering) and are watching the newest Ice Age movie with the kids

Happy Holidays All!!
I got at least 3-4 eggs today, one might have been left over from yesterday.
We went to church last night with Joan, I am not particularly religious and DH is an "Anglo-Catholic" (personally I like "recovering") He says he is a Catholic in all
but his allegiance to the Pope.
Anyway, Joan is Lutheran so we have tried a few here and there over the years, and she finally found one near us that she likes.
We had burnt brownies, and eggnog, came home and I didn't get to sleep till almost 3 am...

So we slept in today, I finally got up and fed everything and Jason the handy man where I keep the critters at was able to fix the wire ( I thought it was a toggle switch)
on the blower motor so we now have heat in the little truck!!!
We finally got ourselves dragged off to DH's cousin's house for X-mas day dinner, and we shared gifts.
We got our "niece" a Lego Friends plane club set and a pair of Hello Kitty pajamas, I told her it was the "evil hello kitty" ones.. So SOOO love to
hear her say "Hello Kitty is NOT evil!!"
I got a dutch oven I have been drooling after for a few years now..

Its purple though... LOL

Hi All!

Gee Jim, too bad you couldn't find an old dentist siphon. In luge of that, maybe a cheap wet/dry vac and adapt a hose? Man I hope you guys like scrambled goose eggs! LOL I'm with ya' on the old fashions! Yummm!

Didn't really do much today. DH made ravioli for supper. I tried to make the temp turkey pen more wind resistant. Young son went skiing at the resort he's a lift operator at. He had off (seniority) and he gets to go for free. He also gets to use the spa for a couple of bucks. #1 son went to his dad's for the day. After everyone went to bed and dishes were done I made 150 fire starters. Cost a few bucks in wax but cheaper than buying them.

Guess that's it. Hope everyone had a good day..... Night All!

I hope you all had had WONDERFUL Christmas! We sure did. I have the mess to prove it...

We did Christmas with my MIL Sunday. We had Christmas Eve with my side at my place. Yesterday it was just my immediate family. I LOVE that we started doing that a few years ago! We lounged around. We had birthday cake for Jesus for breakfast (kids thought angel food cake was appropriate), they played with their loot from Santa, then we took them to a movie. Peanut butter sandwiches, or beefaroni for supper. A glorious day indeed!!

I'm 51 posts behind. I'm skipping them. Sorry! If something is important then pm to fill me in.

I got a Christmas Eve present from one of my silkies. My very first silkie egg! So funny because I was just thinking "someone should start laying soon" I look down and there's an egg! It was like it popped out right outta my head and onto the ground!

I have not got the lights on a timer yet. But I have turned them on at 4:30 and then off between 8 and 9 pm. Been dong t for ay be a week...? I got FIVE flipping eggs yesterday! My first blue one from Lady Bird in a good month. Granted, I've got way more girls that sould be doing their job, but I'm happy to see some of them got the memo. I'm going to keep up with the lights for sure!

Isn't it time to go shopping for stuff on sale??? Oh wait, I never have any money left to go after Christmas. BUMMER.......

I have to sit down and write her an E soon. Amy I've gotten a few puzzled looks over the years when I mention "snot sucker".

Jim my justification on new oil in large quantities is that's it's cheaper than tractor parts. MLH you have BTB we have TTT. TOBYTHETERRIBLE! Man he's a shoothead! TO and ODrH nice pix's they both look delshious!

Didn't have such a great day yesterday. Got up at 3 with L for meds she was feeling pretty bad. Ended up setting a new land speed record to Marshfield ER. She was blocked up from her meds despite all the fluids I pumped in her. She scared the H out of me her bp dropped way down but is normal now they pumped out her stomach to relieve the pressure and is still waiting to pass the blockage. Spent the day there yesterday and have been up since 3 this morning trying to get caught up around here. Will go back up when things are "good enough" for now. Her surgeon is coming in today and hope to be there for that. Not much sleep since Sat. Lots O coffee! Gotta finish the dishes, scoop the poop, water the chickens, and jump in the shower first. Gotta go!

DrH, glad to hear L is ok for now.... NOT a good way to spend Christmas!!!!

Back to normalcy today. Work should be steady I think. Looking forward to coming back home and spending time with the kiddos!

Good morning folks! DrH--

How scary! Praying for L and you. Thank God you got her into emergency. Blockage is not something to play with for too long! I hope they can fix it without having to do another surgery.
I am off to open doors and then to work. It feels kinda bad to have to go to work when the entire household is still sleeping! No, actually it really SUCKS!

SO off I go...at least it is starting to get lighter in the mornings---right?
