Great game!
It was fun to watch and i am so glad we won!!
Chicks are growing and buzzing around like little road runners. Enjoying having them and watching them. Ask me in a month after the dust has started if I still enjoy them.
Hi all- sorry for your losses BBP. Love seeing everyone's chickie pictures. Not feeling so well the last few days. Went to a pain clinic on Thursday and I think the exam really screwed me up. The pain has been pretty intense and the new medication they gave me makes me nauseous. All I managed the last two days was to give the animals food and water. I didn't even get the eggs yesterday. I did gather up 13 eggs this afternoon, so I am pretty happy about that. Hoping I feel better tomorrow. I bought two heated pails, one for the chickens and one for the horse and goats, and I would really like to get them out there tomorrow. So tired of carrying frozen pails of water. Anyone know if it's ok to use an extension cord? It says not to, but I don't really see why I can't use an outdoor cord...
Happy house here now that the Pack won- can't wait for next week!
Good night
Judge- They have outdoor extension cords, and a cover you can pick up at any hardware store or a F&F.
A good friend of mine had to run two cords out to his paddocks and he found that it would overwhelm his circuit breaker in his garage. He ran one from his garage outlets, and one from his pool outlets so they would be on separate circuit breakers.
He has never had an issue since doing that.
Just an FYI for you, to save you a possible headache later on.
Jim, you're going to think I'm completely nuts but . . . I don't mind him shooting the coyotes because I don't like them running the fox off. He does know where they're denned up and hasn't done them in. I just need to count every night to make sure everyone is in. I have never had this many stay out. Not sure what happened. Its just frustrating. I don't have a drake to breed to my blue fawn girls now. And losing my favorite hen sucks. I think I'm driving down to Iowa to get a drake from Dennis Fuller out of Art Lundgrens stock. That duck will definitely not be free ranging! I'll put him with my best blue fawn hen in a raised pen.
Good nearly afternoon--I am still tired though I slept for 12 hours! No, I did not watch the game Jim...not even secretly! I wanted to see a bit but I was too tired...had to sleep! Of course the fam woke me up with their loudness when they got home. Why one needs to scream about poop on the floor is beyond me. Pick it up and shut up!
Got a call just before and my client is in the hospital. The older gent that is. I sure hope he comes home...they are seeing the social worker tomorrow. He will probably do rehab for a few weeks and then they will decide if he needs to go to assisted living or get to come home.
DD20 ishome and she now says she will help with chores if we go out now...guess I'll take the help!
I will give you a call Carol...
Later friends! TerriOreallylookingforwardtohervacationcomingup!
Hi All, JB Weld to the rescue again,, the handle of my metal hanging waterer broke off,, all that held it on sere 6 tiny spot welds.. I drilled the spot welds out and put in 6 pan head screws, well embedded in JB Weld.. That should be a life-time fix..
I think I just might re-enforce the other metal water's handle as long as I am in the fixit mood..
If you are using extension cords,, make them as heavy a gauge as you can, and make the cord as short as you can make it.. length of cord really lessens the load you can put on it..
sometimes a short light gauge cord works better than a longer heavy gauge cord..
make your own cord with a piece of 12 gauge wire and a plug end and a recpt end..
I made it to F&F .. they had only two pallets of layer crumbles and 80 bags of cracked corn left..
I took 6 bags of each,, but I had to take them from inside the store,, there was none in the warehouse..
had a glazed donut for b'fast.. the first one in almost 2 months.. I am getting hungry already.. I guess I will have an omelet/foo yong for lunch..

Wow, nobody on today...I am taking a break after cleaning and resetting(adding nest boxes and special food/dishes) two finch cages, a parrot cage, Tommy's cage and 3 catboxes. Thought I would have a bit to read because of the no game situation...
Sorry to hear of the pred prob BBP! I had a fox this past spring that must have had kits somewhere...she and her mate got quite a few of my smaller birds. I went out every morning once I figured it out and waited for them. Because I am not a practiced shot, I dont think I ever hit them but they seemed to stop coming by once "easy picking" was over. I am pretty sure they will be back next year though. My friend Peggy counts her birds when they are roosting too. At least you know when one isnt inside that way...mine roost in too many places to do that!
Look what I have on my table! It is my cat "Duck" acting out the fairy tale "Princess and the Pea!"
And here we have my children playing Guitar Hero (or something) before the game yesterday. Now, study the following picture...what happened?
LOL--this one DD26 found somewhere...it was taken in 1989. DH looks like a baby!
Well I think I am going to make some brownies. I found a recipe that uses black beans! Supposed to be delicious, I will let you know!
BL4 you asked me a long time ago what my favorite GF beer was and I have forgotten to answer...I hope it's not too late to get some for your BIL! Anyhow it is "Omission" Not many stores have it and it is made with some process that they remove the gluten during fermentation. It is made with regular beer ingredients and it was quite good; although expensive, like most GF things are! (there, now I can rest easy that I answered! LOL)
Went out tonight to bring the chickies and goats and horse their food and water, and to give them our Christmas trees, and this is what I saw. Now, her head is usually all red. I was shocked when I saw this. She is about 9 months old, isn't that too early for molting?

do you have a rooster ? they usually hang on to the hen's head in about that spot when breeding.. lots of hens have no feathers in the area just behind the head..
