Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Jim I'm sorry your eye is bothering to so much. Laser surgery doesn't sound like fun, but thank goodness they came up with it! ( to help out those ultra special people like you and Brent...) (not sucking up at all... ;-)

Darn tootin' Doc! I would freak out if SOMEONE didn't say I was the bestest! You're the bestest in my book too. Aaaawwww lots of love today... LOL

I don't think Terri would show up in her jammies. But Fridays are supposed to be MY pajama snuggle day with Pickle because he has no school. So I probably would be the one showing up in pj's. But I don't want to embarass Terri and MXM, so I guess I'll get dressed. Even put on deodorant... :D

Darn...wish I wasnt working and could met you lovelies for lunch today. Darn wacky job..good thing I am looking at a career change option!

Thanks Terri O..the bell is working for puppy breath.. I think he is getting it too. Although he is still a bit OCD about asking to go out. I think he wants to stay out more, but it is cold so he just keeps going in and out and like a kid potty training, I dont want to tell him no and then he has an accident. (just have to train the kids with the bell too!)

Trying to see if I can make it to the bash this year. Hard to make a 3 hour drive with kids when one gets carsick all the time( Geesh, the 40 minute drive to Heathers was rough!) Hoping he outgrows it soon.

Heather... any news yet?
Sorry about all these frozen and dead birds. I will personally miss Carols little handsome. I love those little seramas. Just think my kids would step on them too easy!

ok someone help my mind work.. antibiotics in water for chickens is it 10 days or 2 weeks we cant eat the eggs... I cant remember...brain has officially stopped working

Morning all!

CristiP~were you the one that lost your turkey while you were gone? I know it's too late to do good for him but will help if there's a next time. I was reading my latest issue of Backyard Poultry last night and right in the bottom of page 11 is a reprint of an old article that describes exactly what happened to your bird and how to cure it. It just stinks this wasn't in the January issue. Oh well, at least all you with turkeys will know what to do if it happens to your birds.

Late getting on this morning, been out shoveling snow. 3" so far of the light fluffy stuff so the shoveling was pretty easy. still coming down but not seriously. Wind supposed to pick up later so don't think the girls will be playing outside. Temps are in the teens (yea) but the windchills will be brutal, of course.

Jim~I hope you feel better today so you can go play on Ollie. Hubby is outside now playing on his tractor.

Well I need another cuppa and my blankie now to thaw out so I'll chat more later.

OOPS BEFORE I FORGET!!!!!!!

for those who get the Healthy Chickens Bulletin in your email there is a GREAT recipe in the Issue 55 1/23/13 combined with a really good article for an HERBAL WINTER SUET BLOCK . For those who don't already get it you just go to [email protected] and sign up for the "Healthy Chickens Bulletin". It's free and often has some really interesting answers to folks questions.

Well I think I finally kicked the stomach bug I had/have..

I lost my dear tiny rooster this morning, he seemed to perk up after getting the tar beat out of him by a young roo in that coop/pen.
He seemed to rally and then was puffed up yesterday morning, and when I went to check on him he was gone...
I will miss him terribly.

On another note, I went out to start the truck I saw this and HAD to get a few pics of it.. this is natural and not enhanced.
Beautiful
glad you are feeling better

The morning sure is nice..the chickens are out The ducks..no so much

Of course I'm suppose to be cleaning...but I'm to busy checking out all the hatchery websites. Have any of you ever ordered the mystery surprie box from crackle? I am sooo tempted. I would like to do it in May ..but I'll be back to work then. And right now I can really enjoy the babies. I've tried to upload photos but my mobile app just isn't doing it. Maybe this weekend I'll create a website of my birds.
The weather here just plummet 10 degrees....the wind is awful!..but the sun is shining. ;-)

I can't believe Bigz! CC you stink too! I'll find someone who thinks I'm the bestest....

I went to close all the birdies up. I was missing my white female silkie! What the heck? I'm looking all over, in nooks and crannies. I mistook some insulation for her.
lol.png
I then I looked in the mini coop. She's sitting in there all by herself. It's so cold! I hate her to be without the other silkies body heat. I hope she does ok...

Looking forward to my Starbucks fix tomorrow! I suppose I should probably find the incubator for Terri...

I stink? Mrs. Maybe-I'll-even-put-on-deoderant-today????? Eeeeeewwwwww!!!!!!!!!!! Poor Terri & Marg.

Sorry to hear about your rooster Wcc, but I'm glad you are feeling better. Beautiful sunrise- thanks for sharing!
Jim- hope you start to feel better soon. I know you mentioned why, but I forgot. My FIL is having surgery today for cataracts. Poor thing- but yay for me. I get to do his chores tonight!!

Stopped by parents today to pick up my little guy. They were babysitting while I went to get my MRI results. Well the good news is I don't really have fibromyalgia. Instead I have Degenerative Disc Disease in my neck. Glad to have diagnosis, and that I am not crazy. Now to weigh the options...
Dad was building me a brooder box. I hope it's big enough. I guessed and told him 4ft x 2 1/2ft deep x 2 ft high. I figure I'll never have more than like 8 birds at a time.
Hope you all have a good day

Awwwww, how sweet! Lil fuzzy butts! And what an assortment of colors. Thanks for posting Denise's pics, Ang. I just hope she has a top for that brooder.

So what breeds did you get, Denise? Is that a brown one in the center?

Carol, that pic is just spectacular! Glad you're feeling better too!

Cind, that recipe you posted for the ear mite killer is almost exactly like the one I found in "The Veterinarian's Guide to Natural Remedies For Cats". Except they substitute vitamin E for the garlic, but I think the garlic would be much more effective since it is a natural insect repellant. They also mentioned using yellow dock. You could probably use eucalyptus essential oil too, hey?

Mmmmm........Adult cherry cokes sound yummy, Bl4! And you're right. Using olive or almond oil would be a better choice.

Jim, that must be very aggravating about your eye. I hope it is much better today & that you could get some sleep. I'm sure a few "root beers" might help solve that problem.

Kris, I believe it is 2 weeks. Glad the bells are working.

Judge, sorry about the DDD in your neck. Cervical issues are no fun at all. Your brooder sounds plenty big for up to 8 chicks. I hope you get to use it soon. How are the eggs coming? Sick of turning yet?

Back to laundry. Whoopie!
