Well, one of my roosters has less tail! He was probably the only one who braved the cold to come out....Ruddy decided he had to chase

he grabbed the poor guys tail!

Well, he got a good scolding! He wouldn't even look at me for hours. Actually, if the roo hadn't tried to fly away and just stood there, he would ave been fine. It was the whole "chase" thing

Why are you tapping Silver Maples and not Sugar Maples?

I do not have any sugar maples either. Any maple will do(not as well as a sugar maple but will do) including box elder trees.

We all have chickens for eggs and meat, but we do not just have the best production birds and meat birds.

This was not supposed to sound so angry and defensive, just trying to explain.

The chicks are snug under her. I have not seen them yet to take pictures. I imagine I will do it when I move her to the other pen. She probably still hatching.

Good Morning Everyone! I love seeing the baby chicks hatching! That is just such a fun miracle of life that you can see everything going on. Thanks for sharing the photos.

My poor big birds...it is so cold outside. I know they're in the Spa Room - but I miss hearing my Amery talk to me. Since he's been in the Spa Room he can hear me in the
house and crows all the time - unless it's really cold.

Monsters have a 2 hr late start...3rd one this week. ...always throws them off and makes things not so much fun later in the day.

Everyone have a great day! Glad you liked my pics. I love going in there and playing with them throughout the day.

Didn't mean to. Just kept seeing in my mind what that postal worker must have seen when he/she checked that box. At least your experience may serve as a warning for any newbies reading about your horrible losses. Did you have to go to the post office and get a statement or did Ideal take your word for it?

Very cool! TO yes you do have some interesting friends! Can't wait to hear "The rest of the story" Hope you find a vet for Clarence! denise can't believe they shipped without heat paks. You would think that they would get tired of reimbursing for losses. Just so sad! I hate those chic pix and I hate you for posting them! Your mean! Just kidding. YEA! kjg made it home OK! Jim yesterday when I got dressed to plow I put my LJ's on went to the back porch and put the heavy clothes on and looked over and there on the dryer were my pants.

Too much work to take it all off, the carhart insulated bibs were good enough. Bf4me I'd borrow your pole and give a personal show for that stove! Always wanted one for the kitchen. I'd lightly wire brush any loose rust and like Bigz said put a fire in it outside. It'll burn off most of the remainder and then remove any more loose stuff then I'd be real temped to slather the bad spots in bacon grease and cook it in. But that's just me and unlike Jim I'm often wrong because I'm not very brite, bright, blight, bite. JJ ran the 250w lamp for only a few days last month and the elec bill jumped nearly $20 don't think it would take long to recoup the money. Will probably get one when I hatch next time. Thanks for the info! Dan the one you posted didn't say much about the type of lamp or elec usage? Will do some more vestigating. Thanks! Cindy Kissy knows how to butter her bread. She's just so dang cute! Toby isn't going to be a huge cat but he's gonna be long and will look a lot like mama. Bad naughty Ruddy! Happy B'day to all that it applies to! A very long list today. Before I forget... Terri how are the new specs?

As to the stove, it's probably been here since the house was built. Never been outside. No cracks. This house was built by a Haas, then sold to a Haas, bought by another Haas'. So family essentially always here, along with the stove. I can't find a date on it. Supposed to be on the gauge on the front.
