Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

that seems to be good for humidity. We run under 30% humidity for days 1-18 and then between 40- 55% on days 18- to hatch. Good Luck

Hi All!
Good Luck to all starting a hatch this weekend! Wish I could have joined you, but only want to hatch with broodies this year. That is unless the turkeys start turning them out regularly!

I am trying a new pizza crust recipe for tomorrow (today to you). I have been looking for years for the perfect crust! Thin, bubbly and slightly yeasty.  A place in Lake Geneva made that kind of crust but the guy that made it retired, died or something. What ever, the ones making it now don't quite hit the mark. In any case, home made pizza is so good!

Well, very tired so Night ALL!

We just tried a new pizza (homemade that is) we just pesto for the base topped with mozzarella and crushed garlic. Another of our faves is caramelized onions atop olive oil with anchovies. Oh they are both delicious! !!! We are also trying to perfect the pizza crust.

Good morning. I took out fresh veggies (mainly for Mr. Gibs but I know the hens will get their share) and also FF. Mr. Gibs dug a tunnel overnight. Where does he think he needs to go? Anyways, I filled it up much to his disappointment while he ate.

So question. ..do you guys give FF with dry food or without?

Okay...so spring has sprung (let me live my delusion)so why the *#!@ is it sleeting outside? Ugh! !!!

Good luck to everyone in the Easter Hatch. I forget who it was that was talking about bringing marans to the party, but what is their personality? I know they have dark chocolate egg colors right? I am looking for a quiet and friendly flock for my illegal kept flock. I currently have 3 (a production red and 2crosses that look like red star), this will be cut down here in the next month or so as I add a variety of orps and hopefully some wyandottes.

Happy Saturday!

We're getting some rain and warmer temperatures finally. I hope to see more of the snow gone, so that my patience for duck coop building isn't tested as it has been lately! Picked up a couple more books from the library to read up on duck raising. Also received my Storey's Guide in the mail, so I can highlight and make notes on that one - already had to buy one book from the library, didn't want to purchase another! (Cookbook fell off the counter and the binding fell all apart, but $30 later I have a taped up cookbook and the library has a check to order a new one!)

Ok...you would think I am a totally newbie...this is my second incubation, but my first one only had about 50/ hatch and it was a year ago.
Anyway...so full turning tray of eggs...temp went down to 90 and humidity went up to 30...how long will it take to normalize again. Not touching anything with the dials as they were set last night and this am perfectly...
Thanks gang...

Good morning all! I hate when a book from the library gets wrecked! I have had to pay for a few. I would think that if a book was in that poor of shape that it broke falling off the counter; they could give you a break! I dont think they are supposed to self destruct that easily!

Cind I have to make some HM pizza now....I have such a taste for it. Speaking of...yesterday MXM and I went to Waterhouse Coffee shop and had some lunch/coffee. I had the most amazing sandwich on a bun that was made from Tapioca flour. I bought a pack and think that I will try to recreate them here. It had such a nice chewey texture that is missing from most GF breads. MMMM! Good thing I already know how to do a good GF pizza crust!

I am heading to Hurley's place this afternoon and then to H&R's too. I guess my Easter hatch will be done by others! I am having my own contest...pitting them against each other!

Well I guess I should start moving here. I had to put the geese back in TWICE today before 9 AM! I think I need to figure out which way they are going and fence it off. In between my trips outside I dreamed that a rescue group came to capture them and take them away. I wasnt living here though--I was living in the little house that I grew up in! It was very strange to be sure!

Have a great day--I hope it gets warmer than it is for sure! TerriOalreadytiredofchasinggeesethisyear
