Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Oh, blarney mcfeverish here... Sneaky leprechaun found our house and the paper gold coins the kids left out. He left them a rainbow of skittles and some pennies in exchange for the gold coins. They were so excited. He might have also left some green footprints across dd rainbow picture.
Puppy is a little better today. Hoping to hear if trainer is still coming or not.

Done with chores. Tyler helped momma get the snake eggs into the incubator, check on the chickens, chase the ducks, water, feed, run the dogs about, make eggs and ham for breakfast, and is now building a railroad in the dining room. We've put in a day, already! Still waiting on Thomas and DH to get up.

We didn't end up going to BD today, both boys are hacking up lungs, I've now got a cough, and we're all blowing through Kleenex. Man, the whole family just got over a 5 week stint with this crud with a 1 week break, now here we go again. Darn preschool vector houses. LOL Ah, well.

Doesn't sound like we missed much at BD if it was that cold!

BYC name (CS)-Fightin' McWoozy (I like this one)

We successfully found DD10 her pageant dress for evening wear and her interview outfit as well. Yeah!!!!

The house smells lovely..corned beef, cabbage, and red potatoes. I made the Irish Soda bread last night. We are gonna eat when DD12 gets out of the shower and DS9 finishes putting away his clean clothes!

bigfam- I'm thinkin' that we will spell "double trouble" together!!! Watch out cheeseheads, the women are gonna wreak havoc at the bash..mwah ha ha!!!! I'm afraid to come up there, I'd be tempted to come home with more critters. DH would kill me!

Hi ALl, pretty quiet here today.. everybody must be at B Dam ,,

I cleaned up bator #3 and am warming it up.. I might switch all the eggs from #1 into it and use #1 for goose eggs.. it all depends on which one I can get the highest humidity out of..

the Asian lady brought me 3 doz more eggs to hatch.. I will be setting those,,, about a dozen more guinea and about 7 goose eggs today..

I need to get the temp up one more degree so that I can add water..

we had company until almost 1 AM this morning.. and now my oldest sister said she was coming this afternoon.. ..

It is nice and sunny out, but it is still cold.. so much for global warming, eh? I don't think the polar caps are melting today..

I was trying to help a woman from the incubating thread with her hatch,, but she doesn't communicate.. I have no idea if she is taking my advice or not.. I think that is rude to ask for advice, then get an answer, and then not acknowledge that you received it,, even if you are not going to follow it..

H&R,, you are the only one that I know of who has peafowl.. what kind of advice can you give me for humidity for the eggs ? don't force me to go to the peafowl thread..

Blarney McGingerly here....I was playing iwth eggs after my nap...I have only a few more colors to get to have a nice rainbow! I had a surprise; a "natural selection" made Olive Egger! It is not real dark (hopefully my arranged marriages produce better ones) But it sure was fun to find it this morning! The daylight must be getting much better for egg production because I have found some colors that I havent seen for a while.
Without a flash:

With the flash.
I have no idea what bird laid the olive egg, of course! I was surprised to have so many greenish eggs out of the pens...those Ameraucanas must have really gotten around last year!

I was hoping to see the picture that Cuties' sister took of us posted! C'mon Cuties--get with it! I met her and her DH and sister, Irish and Zeke today. (and none of them use their own name except ME!) LOL! I have a hard enough time with passwords etc. I sure dont need to remember screen names too!

Got all the ingredients in the pot for our CB and C dinner tonight. They must be using different wax on the turnips and parsnips. They were much easier to peep this year than in the past. Either that or I am getting stronger and I sure doubt that!

Well, I think I will run the vac before DH gets home...since it makes him wheeze. (baby)
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine! TerriOakaBlarneyMcGingerly

ETA: I should have waited a week for setting those quail eggs...I am getting a ton of them now! I also saw jumbo cots and jumbo bobs at the swap...yes, they are MUCH bigger!

Greenie McWoozy is my stage name today. Happy St Paddy's Day to all!! I've got the corned beef and cabbage just standing by! Also will make some Colcannon with some of the cabbage and some kale, too. Irish soda bread is like cake to me so I made 2 loaves! A little Gaelic Storm and a little Baileys and I'm set for the evening.

Just got back from my travels today - I brought CC's rooster home with me from Beaver Dam. Thanks to Terri O for transporting him. In honor of St Paddy's Day I have named him Danny Boy. He is soooooo beautiful. I'm sure the girls will swoon when they meet him later this evening!

So....here's a picture of the BYC Cheeseheads from the small animal sale in BD this morning: (L to R) Terri O, Irishrovr (Eileen), Zeke (Rick), and the cuties (Melanie and Scott). Dang it was cold out there!

Terri, I will take 3 doz of those gorgeous eggs!!!! Too bad you are such a long drive....

Yeah, not even going to put up my Leprechaun name..... I already have enough Irish in me, and have the name to prove it.

When in the world did we start putting things out for kiddos for St. Patty's? Never heard of doing anything other than the traditional CB&C.

ODrH, what kind of snake eggs are you hatching? I must have missed it a few posts back.....

I did not notice until this morning how FAT our other two cats have gotten. We had been trying to feed Runt all of that high calorie food, and even though he would eat some, the clean-up crew here really made out. I cannot find the ribs on these two any longer..... not that this is a bad thing, they both needed to gain a little bit.

I can't wait to cut into the cheesecake I made...... maybe I will bring that to the bash for the ladies Wine event!

I've got somewhere around 200 eggs in the incubator, mostly various genetic crosses of corn snakes, with a few corn/king hybrids. Waiting on 7 ladies and I'll have them all collected. 2 months and I'll be snowed under in corn snake babies, but majority of the less interesting ones will go directly to a friend. I generally only hold on to the really good ones, the rest will go to other hobbyists interested in the genetics I'm playing with here, others will go out as pets.

The girls are really laying well this year. They must have enjoyed their year off last year when I decided not to breed them. Was my first time without baby snakes since...2000, I think? It was a nice break, but looking foward to babies this season.

Now, if we could just break this winter thing, so I can get my birds back out in the fresh air more, that'll be awesome!
