Did you figure out how much they will be w/shipping?

FT.... Thanks for getting hold of Dr.Haha!!!! I'm sure I wasn't the only one worried about him! Sure hope he gets back on here soon!

JJ.... The asparagus patch we have we were told is over 30 years old and as far as I know has just been repopulating it's self. Matter of fact I even thinned it out a couple of times because there was no room to walk in it.

Angie... WOW That snow is depressing!

I think all this rain is washing all the energy out of me. Even the little time we've had breaks in it I look at what has to be done then feel like I need a nap before I even get started!

Of course I don't breath well in this weather either so that doesn't help!

The Dom Roo charged me again today. This time I caught him and gave him the indignity of being held and petted and talked to like one of the hens. My other boys have only picked on each other don't know why he decided to pick on me.

No skunk in the trap yet. Young son and his friend sat on the roof of the coop for a while watching for him but no show. He baited the trap with something else today, don't know what.

Well, tired, I should try to get to bed at a decent time... Night All!

It will keep growing, but the quality suffers. If it is too thick, dig some up and move it elsewhere or give it away.

You will find a big ball of roots that can be separated into bare root plants. I do not know what time of year is best for doing so.

sleep well

Good Morning everyone.

Well its day 27 of my duck eggs. I am still following Jims direction to a "T" and hope to see some babies in the next couple days. :) Not much going on. I think some of the ladies are laying in the woods again. Since my netting fell this winter and I havnt picked up zip ties yet to put it back together they flock jumps the fence. I've only been getting about 5 eggs a day if I'm lucky. It was up to 10 a couple weeks ago.

Well I hope everyone has a good day.

Hi everyone! So it is getting to be that time when my broody hens will be hatching their eggs (hopefully). Hatch day for them is Sunday. So- what do I need to look for? Will they get off the nest to eat and drink these last days? Do I need to put food inside for them to reach during these last days before hatching? Do I need to change all the bedding? Looking for all advice since this is my first time with broody hens.
When they are due I make sure food and water is close. Sometimes mom does not get off the nest for days while she is hatching. She will take then off thee nest when she feels they are ready. Don't change anything and try not to disturb her much.

Actually enjoyed our roadtrip yesterday to the Onc. 90% good news, no bad weather, and didn't spend a ton of money at TSC (but still spent more then I should have of course)

Angiebub~boy, what a mess!!! We wound up not getting any of the snow but none of the rain either so we still have snow on the ground, sigh. BUT!!!! after a possible inch or so of snow tonight, it's supposed to actually become spring!!!! I may actually be able to check on my garlic by the weekend
ya.gif

About the schizophrenic chicks. My, supposed to be sweet little cinnamon queens have went completely insane too!!!
ep.gif
They're rearing up at each other, charging my hand when I do something in their brooder and scream like banshees (yes, I'm Irish) when I pick them up~!!! They are officially 3 wks old yesterday so I am just hoping it is a bratty toddler phase they will quickly pass thru and they are not actually going to form some pack of He!!'s angel's biker chicks and terrorize my coop when they are put out!!!
lau.gif
I handle, I cuddle, I've started giving them treats, but whatever I do just seems to pi$$ them off!!! Kind of reminds me of my son and daughter when they were trying to figure out how to be "cool" teenagers!

Well, way too far behind to comment on too much except thanks FT for the update from DrH. Glad to hear he is getting back to the normal spring routine, at least a little. Nothing helps more then to focus on spring chores. Thanks Doc for your well wishes for me

Still working on the possibility of at least stopping by for the Bash.

How late is too late to rsvp???

Oh yeah, BL4M~~~~even tho I am much (no comments) older than you, I totally understand fighting the weight gain caused by drugs and know too well that people who have not had to fight that battle just don't get it. I too am 50 lbs. overweight and fighting to hold there and not gain more! I had managed to drop some last summer and thought "great" only to find out it was because I was in trouble!!! Fixed the problem and "whoosh" the weight just piled back on! I was actually in great shape and looking the best I had in years when I was dxd (ironic huh?) but after years of trying to fight the drugs, I finally surrendered and I have come to accept that this is my new "normal" and I just thank God every morning that I am still here and if anyone else has a problem with my "wide load" then they can just pull over and let me by!!!
bun.gif

Well now I am off to a "me" day!!!! Going to break in the new Escape to being a "farm" vehicle. Heading for Rhinelander and the nursery to grab my tom, herb, etc. plants before they get cleaned out this weekend!!! Oh, and a stop at the coffee shop, check out Goodwill, the overstock place, BBBYYYEEE!!!! (BBBUUUYYY)

Well I don't know. I'm probably 50 lbs overweight with no end insight. My anti anxiety meds don't let me lose weight hardly at all. It's not the first time (or second or third) that I've gotten a fat comment or reference. Yep, a sore spot. May be Jim and I should go hide out together... JIMBO you got space for me up there???
Awww- I know how you feel. I have gained 20lbs and it seems like the meds I take have not been helping either. I am hoping that with this warm weather I will be able to move around a little more and start feeling better

Omy Gosh you made me laugh.!! Glad I am not alone in the chick hell! I will from now on look at them as trying to be "cool" teenagers LOL!!! ~ since i have a "real" one of these I can completely relate!

Preaching to choir ladies... I dont think we can complain too much about weight... we all have our issues. Never been tiny in my life and I am ok with it. Need to loose some weight for health but otherwise... I am me... that is not going to change.

Vicki... I have one chick in my batch that is 3 days older than the others and pulls the crazy banshee part on me and the other chicks as well.

Have a lady coming today to take my two baby roos away. If I am getting a roo, I prefer a bantam that is easier to handle. Hoping a silkie or polish roo will pan out.

Looking forward to this nice weather coming on the weekend. I need to go rummagin and work in my yard!
