Veggies CAN be delicious.
I'm with Terri, kids learn their eating habits from their parents.
Yep. A certain relative lets their oldest dictate his diet. It consists of hot dogs, choc pudding, mac & cheese. No veggies, no fruits. The kid's teeth are awful, can't imagine what his immune system is like. I practically quake with anger. Thank God I have learned to feed my kids raw milk, fresh organic fruits/veg from our garden, and grassfed meat whenever we can. And who can forget the eggs!

Hey all......
Nice day here today and I wasted it sitting in court, waiting for my dumb arse X and his attorney to show, he's 9000 behind in support, they finally found him in contempt, stayed it for 90 days and ordered him to start paying the 90 bucks a week he is behind plus current,, have his Dr fill out the papers he was suppose to have there today, and make 15 job contacts a week. what a joke, he is so playing the system, I will never see that money just like I never saw the 4500 he screwed me out a during the divorce...ggggggggrrrrrrr I should just shoot him, cuz that will be the only satisfaction I ever see...

Anyway seeing as how noone ever answered me about to charge to the hatching eggs, I told her 10 a dozen.......... hope she actually shows........ now I have a dilemma, I have a place that wants all my eggs they can not keep up there supply with there demand, they will pay me 2 a dozen, but only if I can get them 18 dozen a week... my girls are putting out 12 I NEED MORE LAYING HENS............... anyone have a few to sell I need like 17 more to have enough, or at least 12 really good layers like my girls...... I have 28, and get 18 to 24 eggs a day, depends on if I can find them all..... they are good hiders........ anyway help guys, anyone wanna clean a few extra's out of there coops? Now I wish I would have kept the 10 hens I sold...argggggggg makes me mad, but go figure when ya think ya have too many it really isn't enough....... LOL or if anyone free ranges in my area do ya want to sell eggs, 2 bucks a dozen? let me know I can grab em on the way to GB where they will be sold....... so anyone let me know......... Kim

Sorry to hear about your X and his drama!

If I wasn't so attached to the 4 I got from you I'd bring them back - they're part of the family now! Hope you can find some nice ones to fill in your order!!

TY Irishrovr.... I know they are lovable girls like all of my girls I hated to sell them, but thought I had to many
Now I find out I need more........arghhhhh............I was planing to replace a few with what I hatch this year, for next year, because I will have a couple that turn 3 next year, but well guess I'm going to go check craigs and see if ZI can find any new ones....
So anyone with extra's or eggs let me know........... I need more girls......... laying already or close to it.......

Just checking in to see how all the chicky poos are doing !!!! Cute cute pictures of ducks and chicks everyone !!!

Getting ready to hit the hay early. I have to go volunteer again at the Spay clinic in Antigo tomorrow.

Still looking to find a home for little 7 month old Teddy. The Doxicockashitapooa !!! I'm attaching a picture of him for you all to see. I am trying very hard to spread the word because he really needs to be rehomed. Him and his father are not getting along. And just for the record he is not my dog. I am helping someone find him a forever home. Like I said in an earlier post I don't want to get into details here.... thanks for understanding.... so here he is.

The little red dog in the front is his mother the doxie/cocker mix. Don't worry Vicki you have first dibbs !!!

Just another day in the neighborhood. Turns out I didn't have to babysit for the neighbor boy after all, change in her plans. Can't say I accomplished much other then I took a stroll through all of the mud around the yard today. I can't believe in front of my greenhouse I could hardly lift my feet (real or fake) It was like quick sand !!!
Went trupsing through the woods, snow is still about 10 inches or more in spots in the woods. Saw where ET tapped al of the maple trees. Cool how it was even trickling out at almost sunset. We have 3-32 gallon garbage pails full. Have to start cooking again this weekend.
Does anyone know if the syrup is suppose to have a smokey taste to it. The stuff we cooked down last week to me tasted like how the smoke smelt !!! It was very sweet but didn't taste like maple to me. Maybe I'm just to used to the artificial "lite" stuff ???
I'll have to do some reading up on it.
How bout you Dan?? Do you do syrup?
Good thing Dr Ha isn't reading this..... I had quite the weird things... stupid but weird.... I put on my sorel boots to go trupsing through the mud and when I walked down the hall I felt something like holding me back. Just thought it was the heavy boots !!!! Finally realized when I had pulled up my pants the sheet from the bed got stuck and I was dragging it down the hallway !!! First thing I thought of is his teasing me about the feathers sticking out of my pants leg !!! Or the ones I tucked in my bra when I was collecting feathers to make earrings !!!

Then I'm outside and decide to go in one of the coops and collect eggs. We have a latch on the door and a peg to keep it closed (mainly so the pigs don't open it and eat all of the chicken feed) Well I didn't put the peg in the hole that ET drilled next to the door. I just stuck it in the latch. So I go in, check things out and when I tried to push the door open it was not going to open. The peg tilted enough to hold the door closed and there was no way I could push, shove or wiggle it. So for about 10 minutes I was "locked" in the chicken coop. I kept calling for ET... Luckily he hadn't gone out to the woods yet or I would have been stuck in the coop for HOURS.
Once I got out and was standing by the truck Porky started getting very very vocal. He wanted some dog biscuits that I keep in the van. I kept telling him no because you are not suppose to give in to piggys, just like you guys are talking about your kids !!! LOL So he continues to squeal at me, he is on my right side which happens to be my fake leg side but he decides he is going to get my attention once and for all..... he takes a step forward and bites my boot.....the left one which is the real one which was out of his way to get to..... who said pigs are stupid...???? He got my attention alright.... but No he did not get any biscuits. They got the rest of the frozen pumpkins that ET has been hauling around in the back of the truck !!!!

OK, now that I used up a whole page of posts I have to go look over my order from Ideal that is coming next week. I think I have to eliminate some things.... I have no idea where I'm going to put chicks and ducklings let alone where they will go when they are adults.

Ghost... sorry you are having issues with your X... could be worse... could still be married to him !!!

Whatcha gonna do ??
Be careful if you add more adult chickens to your flock. I know you want more eggs but you could really bring in a disease or two and you could really upset the apple cart and end up with a big mess on your hands and no eggs. JMHO

Sorry this was suppose to be a short post

Food: my husband will not eat ethnic food. A taco is as Mexican as he gets. He's never has Chinese food. Or Thai. Or Indian. Meat and potatoes was what his mother served. No vegetables except canned corn and green beans. So I honestly gave up the fight. "Dads not eating veggies, why should the kids?" He won't even try a broccoli for the kids sake. Nope. He didn't try a salad until he was 21. He was nice enough to pass hid finicky ness on to the kids. The only meal that ALL kids will eat without complaint is junk food. Otherwise every single night there is someone b!itching up a storm. Every night. Don't even get me started in zhalden. At least I know he has sensory issues with food, but the types of food he can tolerate is very limited. He can't even eat fruit because of textures. The only way I get any fruit or veggies in him is with v8 splash. It really sucks.

Chickens... I don't know what is going on with mine. Can molting just happen back by the tail area? I know what rooster feather loss looks like, this isnt it. My Marans all seem to be balding in back. Out of 5 Marans I'm getting one egg a day. I have so many freeloader chickens, it ticks me off!!! I can't imagine I have feather pluckers on only the Marans? Wait... but my australorp has missing tail/butt feathers and she's still laying. So not molting then? With?

I need to get the bigger babies outside. I want to use the mini coop. But I have to get the nesting box reattached because it fell off. The mini coop would be a good transitional housing for them. But those freaking raccoons could get them pretty easily if I don't get that thing fixed up. That means hubby's gotta do it. But I'm throwing those babies outside when it's 70 this weekend! They will be in a mini covered run on the grass to play. I guess I better move their heat lamp up more. They sure will put up a stink when they get put outside otherwise!

Ok, insomnia is grand. I better go play some solitaire in hopes of making my eyes tired enough to sleep...

Hi All!

Looks like a quiet day here today.

Congrats on finding missing eggs, nests and birds! Hope Dooner had some luck too!
Jim must be really mad at us this time

Hope he comes to the bash.

FT... No not getting a little dog! Sorry. Hope he dose find a nice forever home though.

Delish.... got my chicks all picked out! Save 'em for me! LOL BTW why are some darker than others if they are all BLRW?

Not much going on here either. Yard is still pretty swampy but seems to be slowly drying up.

Night All!

And who taught those kids not to like veggies?  Just think how much healthier you would all be!  Just DO IT Heather...especially for Halden...no grains would really help him--so says the current research!  TerriO

It is very true and well documented as to how grains and preservatives reek havoc on your system. There are people that have reversed their diseases or ailments. Your son would benefit I am sure!
I have 4 kids and they are VERY active. I think we are home 1 night a week without activities and the free weekends are few and far between! I just pack a cooler full of stuff. It requires a bit of planning and work and Mc D's still wins once in awhile, but in the end when you see how it changes how you and your kids feel, it is totally worth it. I was worried we cuoldnt afford it, but actually, I think we are spending less".....thank god for Aldis:)
You can do it:)

I

I responded before I read this one....
My husband stared out the same way. He ate minimal things.. Lots of bread, meat. Potatoes, fried stuff. It is how he grew up. For years he made fun of me and I just gave up. Then about a year ago, he kept throwing his back out, was tired all the time and couldn't keep up with the kids and HE decided to change. Now he is a little OCD about it and very committed... A little over committed sometimes lol.......anyway, my point is that I feel for you because until he decides ito make a change it will be hard, I was there with you:)......good luck!!!!

BigFam~have you checked for "critters"???? That can cause them to lose feathers in their caboose. yuck!!!

Well, 2" of snow yesterday morning, now rain/ice this morning, sigh. It BETTER warm up this weekend, and sunshine too!!! I have work piling up outside that can't get done til the ground thaws and if that doesn't happen REALLY soon it's going to be too late to get it done at all this year

I am sooo jealous of you folks "down south". Never thought I would have mud envy!!!

I want to get my little pterodactyls out on some grass!!! Even if it's just for a few minutes. Maybe Sunday. Also, they are going on 4 wks old and their new side of the coop/run isn't even started yet, again, the weather. There is still snow in parts of the run and the mulch is still frozen to the ground so I can't even pull it back to let the ground under it thaw out.

Wanted to go visit Frenchie at the spay clinic this morning but I don't think that's going to happen because hubby needs the car, darn.

Oh well, need more cuppa, BBFN

Frenchie, did you get my email? I fou nd tons of ads on craigslist of people looking for smallerish doggies :)

Cant remember who asked about the blr wyandotte. But they are a little different color, because they come in black lace, blue lace, and splash variety :)

Have a happy FRIDAY all!!!
