Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

RedWolf, how long do you have to put your time in at HOW??? I know there are a few milk hauling places looking for drivers..... it might be easier on you not dealing with your rotten dispatch (who I would LOVE to know the name of since I have connections in the Amherst area...)

No worries on my end, Lisa. I just didn't want Angie to beat herself up worrying about nothing. He is a teenager & has a ton of things to preoccupy himself with, and I'm sure they are way more exciting than hanging with a bunch of "old fogy" chicken people.

Lisa, if you weren't joking about duct tape, Jim advises sealing the sides of the styro bators to help control temp/hum.

Fish Fry friday To Everyone.... the haddock and shrimp were cooked to perfection, the parmo red potatoes are also very good and different, as well as easy peasy.

Nice to see you back Jim. Sometimes a break is needed. Hope Doc wants join back in to the thread soon too. Even friends in type can grow on you when you learn so much about them. The Bash should be nothing but fun like always. I look forward to seeing everyone again, as well as meeting the new folks.

Sure was chilly today...watched a longbeard walk through behind the coops this afternoon. I know alot of hunters that didn't fill their tags....it takes some good effort some years for sure.

Enjoy the weekend, sounds like it's gonna be decent.

Well, I just had a romantic Friday date night! First, we went to a fish fry at the MIL's nursing home (Bethany) where we ate an exceptionally good meal (especially for a nursing home!) and filled up a couple of ice cream pails of chicken treats from the leftovers they cleared off the tables. The romance continued as we ran to KMart to replenish the MIL's supply of pull-ups and unders as she doesn't think she needs them and cuts/tears them up whenever no one is looking.

Then it was over to a neighbor's where he dumped several big bucket loads of horse puckie into our trailer. We hauled it back behind the barn and shoveled a whole lotta schmidt until after dusk.

When we got home we watched the news and munched a bit. *sigh*

So Friday date nights have officially gone to the dogs!

Earlier we took a little trip down to Lakeside Farm Implements (AKA Treasure Island to the locals) in Westfield to look at some 2 bottom plows they had rusting away. They were pretty pricey - especially for the suspiciously "refurbished" models that they greased up and spray painted badly,

so we came home empty-handed. I don't think we would have had fun getting one of them home as they were too wide for our trailer and possibly too heavy for the car to handle. So the search continues but we also decided to see if we could pay someone to get the field ready for us instead of purchasing the equipment.

Tomorrow is "International Respect For Chickens Day"! So it says on the Saturday activity board at Bethany Home. Have you hugged your chickens today??

G'night all you Cheesehead Chicken People of Wisconsin!!
