Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

A red fox came in the yard today when my daughter was out playing. She was so excited, she stayed out there till bed time waiting for it to come back. My cochins are fortunate she was out there because he was no doubt going to grab one of them.
I also culled my first chick today. The poor thing had something wrong with its legs. It was like splay leg, but the one leg seemed kind of curled and tight. After 3 days in the incubator and many failed tries to correct it, I decided to put it out of its misery. I used the starting fluid trick, because I am much too big of a coward to cut off a head.

My chicks keep eating the feathers off the marans chicks legs. Poor chicks are constantly running from feather eaters. I think I have to split my dang chicks up. I had that with the silkie and cochin chicks too. It is funny that they have any feathers on them at all.

I have to cancel the cookout this weekend..My fil is still having some medical issues and we rather not be tied up. Sorry for the last minute cancellation everyone.

Amy...if everyone on here would not have a rude or snide comment...you know who you are... I would kiss ya! First one to say that queenie is a girl. it is my gut but their crests are similar... most everyone has said roo for both. I was hoping for a nice polish pair! thank you...

Hi everyone!
Well- I lied. Those 4 week olds were not mothering the chicks. They pecked at the little bantam, and ripped more feathers off the poor thing's head. And made it bleed so she was really getting in trouble. So I put the divider back in and put some flour on her head to stop the bleeding and cover the red. Oh well- they were nice for a little while!

Sorry about your FIL- I'll send good thoughts your way

1 Buckeye hatched at school today, so far. 6 to go....

I set them a day apart to stretch out the hatch for the kids to see hopefully the morning kids and afternoon kids can watch one hatch.

Awesome pics cs! Ill show the kiddos!

All our babies are sold :) not even ready to leave yet! One girl is in the hospital, and has not sent a deposit yet. But I am fine with giving her time :)

My daughter had her first t-ball practice tonight! She was awesome! She can smack those balls pretty good. Only missed one time!
Nala is doing very well.
Puppy class was good tonight. Had an attention problem in the beginning. But turned around quickly :) it was a long day. Nite all.

I checked the eggs in my son's class today.... they were taken out of the turner late Friday so hatch day should be today/tomorrow. Out of all the eggs I looked at there were a possible 5 that might hatch..... the rest were quitters. I hope two of the eggs hatch at least.... but I did not see any internal pips or any rocking around, so we will see.

I started my next 8 week session of kickboxing tonight...... I had an insanity moment and signed up for the class 3x a week! I am hoping this will up my endurance levels.......
