Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

So Jim what time are you going to Wausa to your doc???? Wonder if we'll see each other in the waiting area ???

We'd stop over to see your peafowl run if you'd be home and recouped from the weekend.... lol I won't be... I'm still recovering from my drive back from Racine.

I was going to suggest you just post the recipe once... I'd like it too although Im suppose to be reading the book, "Wheat Belly" that my doctor suggested. Started reading it last week, might have to start over with this memory problem I'm having.
Called my docs office today to find out if my sleep study and pulm tests are in, they're not but found out he is in PARIS !!! Must be nice hey?

I'd also love ALL of the Gluten Free recipes from the gluten free table. My niece has celiacs and it would be nice to share them all with her and the family. Especially the cheesecake recipe.

Amyable, hope you find your cheesecake pan thingy. Was it round or square? I seemt to recall seeing a square thing in with the dirty dishes at one point but dont ask what time or day.
If you can't locate it maybe find a picture of one and post it. I go to GoodWill alot and will keep my eyes posted for one for you.

So... what kind of tomatoes does everyone recommend for making ho-made tomato/spagettie sauce? Salsa ? I know Roma's for salsa right?
Or should I ask what do you think is best for each. Plan on picking up some plants tomorrow. Going to try planing the pumpkin seeds anyway....bought them last year at Jungs.... who knows with this weather we might just have a long summer?

Jim do you know of any place in Wausau or on our way there that has good cheap tomatoe plants, pepper plants, broccoli etc??? Heritige tomatoes? Shoulda asked Bigz if there was a place near Clintonville yesterday !!!! Like I said, I"ve lost my mind, memory !!!! Maybe it's Chemo brain setting in from years ago but it's P*ssing me off that I'm so dang forgetful.

Oh and you should see Butt dog and Dolly Dog... They can't get enough sleep... They had an unforgetable weekend. Anyone happen to get any pictures of them??? I didn't :(
I did get a picture of Delisha's Westie sleeping in my dogs bed in our tent though !!! Adorable little girl. I wanted to take her home, along with the dalmation/English bulldog combo !!!! I need that dog !!!!
And yes CC, that is how my brain works, it hops from one subject to the next, just to make sure you are paying attention !!! lol
Give me your address cause for one thing if any of these lavenders are roosters I'm bringing them back !! I was consintrated at looking at their combs that I never looked at their tails..... They all have nice upright tails (5 of them) and only 1 has a small dinky tail !!!! Are you and Heather playing a joke on me....... 5 roos and 1 hen ??? LOL I'll get you for that you know !!! lol

AND, coming over in the middle of the night to snatch that adorable little camper too !!!! What the heck just leave the keys in the truck with the camper hooked up..... I want them both !!
I love the fact that you can sit on the bed and cook breakfast, lunch and dinner !!! lol

Babylady, did you break open the Apple Pie Shots yet? Dying to find out what you think !!

BL4 sorry you missed out, TO guzzled down the last of the second bottle ! She said they were to Cinnamony and that she didn't like apple juice but she drank it all up right from the bottle... what a lush hey ??? LOL Will bring several bottle next year !!! Now I just need to find an apple press so I can use my own apples.

Ok, ten minutes til the Bachlorette comes on !!! Lot of nice brunette Hunks on there this season !! YUM !!!

And this is a long post just because CC loves them !!! LOL Keeps her out of trouble !!

Hope someone has your missing piece Amy...I'll be at camp Thursday for a meeting...I'll look again if you don't hear anything from anyone.

The raffle and white elephant were a lot of fun...thanks for all the donations and the $'s spent on tickets. The cost for camp was covered, as well as $25 for next year's deposit and $100 left over for raffle prizes for next year.....If folks really liked the pizza cutter, I can have one done for 2014.

Thanks for taking paper plates and napkins...I didn't have to take any home!

Loved the dandyline vino and the apple pie stuff...thanks for sharing....the flask was actually filled with Windsor....I said segrams to a few just waiting for a NO...everyone believed me I guess?

Thank you Bigz for being the 'host' of the Bash every year. The campground is a real gem!

Frenchie, the recipe I use for the cheesecake is here: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Strawberry-Cheesecake-2/Detail.aspx To make it GF I substituted GF graham crackers. It calls for strawberries but you can sub whatever fruit you want (this last one was raspberry.) I do think maybe my pan bottom found a new life as a frisbee. I'll be on the lookout for another thrift store one.

TO your turkeys keep hopping into the next brooder to be with my Buff duck and New Hampshire chicks. Sillies. Maybe delisha's Orps aren't cool enough for them?

bigzio..was the bottle of pills a lil onw with blue cap? if so it was mine..aspirin tylenol pm and allrrgy...and you can toss.

posted the group pic over on the byc banner thread at niftychicks request and will try to add a few more soon.

i think another pizza cutter would be a great idea for next year.

Hi all! Fixing lots of stuff here today...but all in all the care of the critters was excellent! I am happy. Kids were here for a few hours this aft. It is bittersweet seeing them knowing that they wont be coming after Friday! I hope they are coming back in the late summer/fall.
Melanie, spouce scott ( I thought if I brought more than 1 there would be too much drama) kids=2

Big fam, I agree; where is jj?

To, im guessing boy lol
Oh yes...I think it's a boy too! How many did you end up taking? NONE of them would go with your female? Silly birdies.
Good morning and happy monday! Back to reality.
Late night with all the runni g to get dogs from their sitters and all the unpacking and laundry! We were pooped, but had an amazing weekend! Thankyou all for the wonderfull time.

Is he REALLY sound asleep in this pic? Poor Scott!
I have to copy THIS and post it in my bedroom! I almost laughed myself off the chair!
Someone's kid going to eat their pancake and flipping it over to find a moth baked in the batter! Jim's response was for them not to say anything because then everyone will want one!

Frenchie saying "Well...it's not THIS dozen, but one of my dozens is hard boiled!" with egg yolk dripping off her fingers!

Oh funny! wish I would have heard these! OMG JIm--what a great response!
in a 2 quart bowl,
break 2 eggs.
Add:
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons oil
3 Tablespoons vinegar
3 Tablespoons sugar (or one small handful)

whip this mixture until the eggs are well beaten..

Add:
2 cups milk
1/3 cup corn flour OR buckwheat flour . OR both .. someday I will try wild rice flour.
1 cup white flour

whisk this all until mixed well..

Add:
3 teaspoons baking soda
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup white flour
mix some more..

Now you have to learn to tweak the mixture so that it is thick, but will still flow into a perfectly round puddle on the griddle, about 1/4 inch thick.. without pushing it around with a spoon..

the baking soda sours the milk ,, sort of like buttermilk..
and it reacts with the vinegar to form those tiny bubbles which soak up the syrup..

I turn the heat to 375F..

lightly grease the pan.. too much grease causes craters on the first side of the pancake..

to oil the pan, I use grape seed oil.. but in a pinch, I will take an uncooked piece of bacon and slide it around on the griddle with the spatula.. then when you are done cooking cakes, finish off frying the bacon and eat it..

don't be afraid to add more baking soda if needed to make the cakes lighter..

a recipe is just a guide line to be adjusted as needed.

eta
when you get real good and fast at flipping the cakes, you will be able to trap moths under them,,
THanks for the recipe JIm...going to attempt a GF variety!
