Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Lisa-nice, old, aquarium! We have a 50 G tank but its all fresh water, I don't have the knowledge, space, or time to do a salt tank.

Spent most of the day outdoors pulling weeds out of the berry patch, herb garden, and shoveling sh!t out of the coop. I took out all adaptations that I made while the chicks were little and when I added things for Mr.Gibs. But none of those additions (steps, hide away, etc) are being used and are outta here! Mr. Gibs eats with the chickens when it comes times for FF and when he needs a supplement, he stands on his rears, holds onto the feeder, and shoves his little rabbity face into the slots of the feeder. I don't know why he doesn't just take the easy route and eat out of his bowl???? Oh well.

Retainers suck, my back hurts, and 2 of the kids come back tomorrow...ugh! Then we have a brief weekend before going on vacation. DH thinks that in the midst of closing on the house that we can afford to spend money on a vacation...um I think not! I think we are traveling to St. Louis for a few days.

Chickenscratch, we are way too far away from you for her to put hives at your place. So far we have found 5 additional properties for her to put hives on. She is really appreciative. So, I let my horses out at 8 pm and those dirty ba$tards ran down to the river and wont come back up. I can't see them, but I think I can hear them behind some bushes. So I came back into the house to recharge my flashlight. Because the last thing I want is to be wading in a swap with 3 horses and have everything go pitch black. Why can't the idiots just come back up here? My husband is at a friend's right now. I just want to leave them out but I know he'll have a fit.

Aaah yes.. rhubarb pie here too.. I live on the seasonal pies.. Rhubarb, raspberry, blackberry, and apple.. Annie made chili this week too.. after she left, I "doctored" it up to suit my taste.. had the leftover steak and leftover walleye for dinner.. hot dogs , beans and cheese&macaroni for supper.. pie for breakfast and dessert.. I decided I like fish more than steak..

My Mom used to boil up a kettle of rhubarb with just sugar, and serve it over ho-made pound cake.. I can't remember what meals she cooked in the summer time, but I can remember that..

and she used to make apple pie in a long cake pan.. No bottom crust, just the top cruse. lots of cinnamon and so sweet it hurt your jaws.. washed it down with a cold glass of milk..

Angiebubs, i did keep a couple smaller tanks and a 90 gal frag tank just in case i get the urge to get back into it. Besides horses, it was my main hobby for over 10 years.

leave them out and let DH have his fit.. tell him that if he would have let them out, it would have been him that they ran off on.. maybe he should spend less time at friends house and more time training the horses to come back.. BTW I suck at being a marriage counselor..

Thanks, I think they'll know though. It was over $5,000.00 worth of equipment so they said I get a plaque with my name on it

I am just happy that it will be ooohed and aaahhhed by lot's of little kids. I had some of the fish for 10 years so I miss them

Yes, vineagar is also great for cleaning aquarium stuff. Once the tank is set up you'll likely use that exclusively for cleaning pumps and filters. For now on an empty aquarium you can use bleach or vineagar.

Here are a couple pictures of my past tense "baby." I do miss seeing it. It was built in to the wall downstairs and really looked nice. It had a whole room full of equipment behind it. Kind of like a mini Shed Aquarium back there.,

This is GORGEOUS!! It must have been really hard to give it up and not have it delight you daily! A very generous gift indeed!!

Update on my FF.... started soaking yesterday, gave some of it today sprinkled with some oats and they all went to town on it. It was the oats that made them check it out though, as when I first set the dish down they just gave it the crooked eye. Sprinkle anything with oats and they go nutzo! :D I still have their dry food in there too and I'm wondering if I keep it in there for them or remove it?
Also, some seem to have a pretty firm crop, others are kinda squishy. Is that ok /normal? I have a tray of sand /dirt mix with them at all times. (My newbie sign is flashing!)
