So no call back on the main flock fecal sample at 5 pm..I call (Oh we were jsut getting ready to call you!) and they said there is very small trace amounts of Cocci. I ask if I should treat the main flock? "Well since they are all together, yes to be safe treat them all" Ummm How may times and people have I told today about the precautions i have taken by seperation, clothing, shoes etc? So I not so paitently explained again.....Then she says "I spoke with the DR and Yes I would treat the main flock for worms too". Umm worms??? "I thought you said Cocci?" "Oh Sorry yes treat your main flock for Cocci as well, and no signs of worms with your main flock". So I ask, was the Cocci within acceptable/normal range? And she said yes but to be safe treat them too.
So I think at this point I will treat the main flock with Corid in the water..no withdrawl and am thinking 3-4 days? Do I still re treat again?
ANd with Latte and Xanadu in the shop, I am still trying to decide but thinking i will try the Corid AGAIN. :-( poor things...and they are still stuck in a smaller cage. I try to get them outside to roam for an hour or two each night...backyard where the other chickens dont go near.
Did I mention my pool is still GREEN??? LOL Chickenship decided to toss in some SHOCK treatment and I guess when using well water that has Copper it turns bright green within hours so working on clearly that out....
(Has to be the heat making me so crabby....should stay in the ouse away from people and offline till I get an attitude adjustment)
BBP: That totally sux about his buddy I would be livid. Personally I would be livid at him for not making this clear to his friend before he came over! And interesting how its not so funny his dog getting hurt by your horse however, once again the mentality that chickens are just farm animals and no big deal!! I illd efiantely check into what other vets offer fecal sample testing. hey are charing 17.50 now..I swear it was 7. last year
Babylady glad its nothing healthwise and stills ending positive thoughts.
TerriO: Yes, its frustrating, chickens should be the easiet to figure out for a vet I would think but they arent "valuable" enough. Thing is, she doesnt know me and that yes I will pay what it takes to take care of this to prevent anything passing to the others and to know what I am facing...so give me the time of day at least!!
Did I mention I had 2 long hair cats in to have a lion shave done yesterday at this vets? They at least are happy campers and much cooler.
