That's 1 tsp per gallon correct?

That's what I have. That's what I made. I gave a drop directly to Sugar and Peepers. They are now both dead. I have to go set up a heat lamp now on the remaining babies and make sure I have the right amount of Corid in the waterer. Answers ASAP greatly appreciated so I don't accidentally kill the chicks.

Cc, I feed my brood chicks medicated. And the few times ive had mothers, I kick averybody out in the am, and provide all chicks and mom with a breakfast of medicated. And at lights out, give them a dish in their private corner. What do you do with the inbetweeners? Ive been trying to kick out the layers in the am. I leave the rest of them in. Give a few stations of medicated, wait an hour and pick it back up.
I know the moms do not allow the teens to eat. Ive been unable to figure how to make it work other then putting in another coop. I do not want to do that. Would it be harmfull for the egglayers to just eat medicated? I am sure they scrounge some after I pick up. But not much at this point.

layers can eat the medicated feed with no withdrawl. i went through the same thing..freaked when layers ate a couple bites and i tossed there eggs. but there is no withdrawl from corid/ amprmillium so they should be fine. sorry im on tablet...slow typing with many typos

Could I feed it to them to get them through the weather? Their feed is not their main diet tho. Theyfree range sun up to sun down. They hardly eat feed in the summer. Would it help anyway?

Like Ang said, the hens can eat medicated, but they will garbage it all down & leave nothing for the littles. I have a section inside my "coop" (20'x20') just for the babies, broodies & juvies (and Jack), so it is easy for me to feed them the chick feed.

I absolutely dislike Purina feeds, but I must admit I use their medicated chick feed. It has a larger crumble which I don't care for because I have to grind it for the wee ones, but it is great for the teenagers. I think if you can't seperate your coop, then just keep doing what you are doing. If you feed the medicated to the entire flock, you'll be going through a LOT more feed. The adults eat it like candy.

ETA: and it will make them fat (the layers). They need the extra calcium & vitamins in the layer feed to be at peak egg laying performance.

Wow... too much to comprehend....

BF so sorry for your losses... I have no idea what to do.

Spent the evening around our campfire with my sis and her family, a few bottles of wine and fixings for some fancy s'mores (PB cups, kit-kats, dark choc, and milk choc...) Good times.

Made sirloin roast for dinner tonight, along with some garlic mashed potatoes, zucchini, and spinach salad with hot bacon dressing. YUM!

Well I suppose should get ready for bed,...

Ok... I couldn't get a bag of medicated feed. I posted this the other day Robin. I have 50 lbs non medicated. So I wanted to do Corid maintenance in the water.

However, I got to thinking since I couldn't get peepers to put weight on with all different types of treats an extra to , that may be it had a strain that made it emaciated. It also had a pasty butt sort of issue. Not the same type of crap here before. Different. So I thought I'd treat peepers fully and maintenance the new chicks and mom. Well since Sugar adopted Peepers, she's been looking worse for wear again. So I thought yep, better dose her as well. No real signs of cocci like I had before, but skinny skinny skinny, very tired droopy lids.

So I have made sure to be using labs spray in the isolation area. And will do the Corid for maintenance in water. But Sugar and Peepers are now resting together under a tree in the woods. I even picked grasses and leaves to cover them. That's the closest thing I've come to doing a chicken burial. Poor chickens.
