Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

CC, near Crivitz. If I get the coop addition done this fall yet then I was thinking of getting a trio or quad. If not, then eggs or chicks early spring. What do you have available?

Thanks for the imput on the vermicomposting, I think I'm definitely going to be doing it next spring and maybe we will have a garden next year and i wont be as busy. I thought I'd share a couple pictures of my Cayugas, the two that are left out of my 5.
My Drake

And my hen.

TO there was a woman from Mt Horeb we were looking for chickens from...English Settlement Rabbitry. Maybe she rethought it because of the heat it was terribly hot Saturday thats quite a drive and then to have chicks and rabbits out in the heat with no shade. The place was busy lots of veggies but didnt look like many people buying. I saw more junk than I cared to see.

Amyable Hope your baby comes soon!! I never had any luck with early babies DD was 7 days late and DS was 14 days. If I share my horror story with him you it can't happen to you... Had to postpone the first scheduled induction because we had a stomach virus... I was not having a baby if hubby was not there! So two days later they induced me I spent 6 hours on a drip and no baby they sent me home...and schudeled me for a cream to soften the cirvex two days later... Must have scared him DS cause I went into active labor and he was perfect. Never saw any of the waxy stuff on either of my babies :)

Back to work

Looks like the molt may be about over as I got three (different from those I've been getting lately) eggs this morning in the coop. One was so thin it was practically translucent. Since the girls share the favorite nest it had collapsed and was a mess. I'm surprised that it didn't get eaten. Is this something that happens when they begin to lay again after a molt? (They have a crock full of calcium to nibble on.)

I got another 15 lbs of tomatoes today and several gargantuan zucchini. This weather has been great for the garden!

It's like they're on steroids!

Pizza night! Veggie thin crust - I'm too wiped out to cook.

Welcome Queenie! I have some nearly ready to lay pullets here. I am also selling my older hens to make room for the young stock. You are welcome to come on out and look. I am in Milford.

I got a call from a guy in Dekalb, IL just now. He wanted Welsummers or Blue Wheaton Ams I know someone posted some pics of some young blue wheatons---WHO WAS IT?

Have a great night--back tomorrow, maybe really early! TerriO
