Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Welcome to the group!!!

Glad to see you over here!!
Where do you live?
lol...funny..

All I can say is I love my jeep..it is old as dirt (96) and it has been very very good to me. I am afraid to get a different vehicle. Joe bought me that Mercedes and I drive my old Jeep...lol
We had a Jeep and absolutely loved it (except for the gas mileage). Now we have a Dodge Stratus (3 of them) and have better mileage. Both had few repairs.

Love my Jeep, love my VW, van is ok...... but with 4 kids we had to get one.

Whoot! Going to see Bon Jovi at the Resch Center!!! (happy dance)!

Back to work!

Chicks are growing well, flying around, learning to scratch and run away. I LOVE

hen raising chicks and I hope to NEVER go back to raising them myself!!!!

My DD12 is sicko!

DH had it first, then DD11 and now DD12. It hit DH and DD12 really hard. She is sleeping next to me on the couch and I'm leaving her there as she had told me earlier that she hasn't been sleeping well because she can't breathe. I figure that since she managed to fall asleep, I'd leave her.

So Jim is not coming on, Zeke hasn't returned........hmm?
Happy Birthday to all September birthday people, I think that covers it

.

So, I'm looking into getting a new vehicle. Any suggestions? I'm looking for the seating of a minivan (at least 7), strength/power of a truck, sleek look, not a van. I have come across the Dodge Durango. It has power, seating, looks okay, and it's not a van. Ideas??? If you know of a vehicle, shout it out (just not in caps).
I also love having a hen hatch and raise the chicks . . . it's the BEST and so much fun to watch.

Good morning!
Welcome pagan! Nice birds :)
Cs and cind, I hope the kids start to feel better.
Judge, I think mom is making a trip home in a few weeks. How is the hen? Any babies yet?
Cs, I also love my jeep! She is a 2000. I have hardly spent anything on repairs. Almost 150k on her :) I think they make a big jeep. Maybe the commander...

I think the hatch is over. I have two eggs in there yet. They are a little darker then the others. They have an m on them. Del, the mottled had a mo written on them. Maybe these were marans... I remember the day I was there, you grabbed a few out of nests. Maybe it was a here give these a shot kind of thing... I tried to candle them. I can not see anything! Of coarse I will give them a little more time to be sure :) otherwise every other egg is now a thriving chick! They are amazing! The leghorn chicks are ginormous!!!!! Thanks again :) excited to see how they turn out !

Vickiw, how are the aussies this morning? I worry about them :-( here s a pic of Blake last night with one of ours.

Love that picture - that smile is incredible. What a proud little chicken keeper.

Awww, no love for the explorers.

I loved mine, both of them. Got them both well used, used them even more, had them both up over 250000 before retiring and they worked hard for a living. The first lived out the end of its natural life on the farm, buzzing people between tractors and fields, the other is currently functioning as a chicken food storage shed next to my coop. It was only rated $1000 blue book at the time I traded up. Since it's worth more than that to me as a water proof storage area for chicken feed, it is functioning currently as a storage shed. Some day I'll get it hauled away, but I've gotten my money's worth and then some out of that truck. Loved it, miss it. Have an escape now, not nearly as functional for hauling stuff, lighter and less stable in the snow whereas my explorers would plow through about anything.

We have a brand new Escape with the larger engine so.we could get the full tow package installed because we "retired" our plow truck and needed to be able to hook up a trailer for hauling hay, etc. We have less than 8000 miles on it but are already getting 30 mpg. Not bad for the size of the vehicle!.

If you hatch Marans...they will have feathers on the feet and legs so they are easy to tell from the others.
I remember sending you with one Marans egg. You have more Mottle eggs than Marans. The chicks will hatch out white and black and white...Yes those leghorn chicks are nice and fat..they really are great egg layers. The two I have left are over 5 and still lay 5-6 eggs a week. They are aggressive mothers though..they do not allow you to mess with chicks/eggs and will try to spur/bite you if you try...Just a heads up. I hope you have all girls..
