Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

TO, So sorry your trip was canceled and you had a lonesome supper. The steak dinner did look awesome though and makes me wish for a steak on the charcoal grill on a nice summer day! Also nice to see the experiment birds are laying, means mine will be too any day

Sorry about the bird AngieB hope it is an injury he can heal from.Chickens with diseases reminds me of when the kids were babies and you wished they could talk and tell you what they were feeling so you would know how to treat them. So frustrating for sure.

Got the chistmas decorations all put away yesterday, today the tree will be disassembled and boxed away till next year and seed catalogs will be arriving!

Oh thank goodness for Sinus medication........ drugs ARE good!

Jim where are the pancakes and sausage? It's 9 AM for Pete's sake! Slacker.....

TO, will you be able to take your trip in the next few weeks? I hope so! You deserve it! Your birthday dinner looked really yummy, but you did not share your cocktail with Tommy???

MG, I was just thinking the same thing about the seed catalogs yesterday when I was at Fleet Farm...... Almost time to get the greenhouses up and running. On top of that I have to incubate a batch of eggs this spring as well...... Oh what fun to have baby chicks at the house again! DH will be so thrilled.

CC, I hope the gig went well and there was a nice turn out!

Time for cuppa #2...

New vocabulary word from yesterday..... the family enjoys watching Top Gear UK version and the word of the day? Vajazzle!

Thanks for all the thoughts and info. and yes I do wish they could talk or communicate somehow what was wrong. Peekachu is still here but not standing up. He is very alert though. I am thinking this is a respiratory issue as his breathing is different this morning. My other Roos crow sounds hoarse and I heard some sneezing. I am treating them with Tylan.

Good luck angiebuns. I hope you cought it in time then. Maybe this crazy weather we have been having...
Jim is definitely a slacker today!
Bbl4 lmk if you want our eggs. So much fun!!

We got all of the mini horse stuff yesterday. Syd is so excited :-) the cart will need some work. But hubby is very handy :-)

good morning, slacker here,, just starting on my first cuppa..

I always enjoyed driving a horse or a team.. when I was a youngster by best friend family had lots of horses.. I had the job when I was about 12 yrs old , of driving a 4 horse team pulling a spring tooth drag.. I did a 60 acre field.. we used to take a horse and a long rope and it would drag an upside down car hood around.. that was our sleigh .. great fun..

I sold the last of 3 baby cockatiels yesterday.. from the pre-Christmas hatch.. there are 4 more tiny ones in the next box from last week's hatch.. and there are also 4 parakeet babies in another cage.. I have a lady waiting for all 4 of the parakeets..

Hurley, are you reading ? did you have a cockatiel pair for sale ? these people said they were in contact with someone way up there but it was too far to drive ..
this lady was replacing one that she lost.. we assumed it died.. her husband and daughter came to pick it up for her.. it turns out that he opened the door and the bird flew outside.. they could not get it to come back..
I think this was a case of; " you lost my bird, now go get me another one.."

I am going to email this lady and try to get her to come to CH .. she sounds like one of us.. lots of mixed up breeds of chickens, dogs and what not ..

I have always said there has to be a special place in He!! for people who abuse animals. Sadly, it appears that corner of hades is getting more crowded every day.

Last night we got a call from our renter who said she heard a dog or some kind of animal crying and yowling in back of the store. So we went out to see what was happening. Sure enough, there was a dog cowering in the corner near a vent pipe for the furnace whimpering, barking and sort-of growling. It was hard to tell if she was injured in any way. It took some coaxing and some food to get her out of the corner but she finally came out and eventually came near us. It was a puppy. Looks like a black lab mix and, from the size of the paws, likely to have the size of a lab when fully grown. She had a collar from Halloween that was almost too tight (It said "BOO" on it). No tags or ID.

The hubs and I followed her tracks from the road and it looks very much like someone dumped Boo off in front of the store. She was so scared and wanted to get inside the building very badly. We figured she had been an inside dog before she was ousted. The renter had called Animal Control and when they got there they said she would get a good meal and a warm place to sleep and she would probably get adopted quickly.

Boo's a pretty dog; under a year (maybe 6 months?); very tall; has the black coat, tail and feet of a lab with a slimmer nose and build, a white crest on her chest and one white sock. She didn't respond to any commands so it appears no one took any time to work with her - or she's younger than I think she is. If I didn't already have a puppy to train I'd want to take her home! If you're looking for a dog like that she's at the animal control shelter in Waupaca.

Nice Afternoon To Everyone....god job with the tylan angibubs...I would bring him inside with a heat lamp and continue the tylan for a couple days to watch for improvement and to avoid him from getting chilled. Good Luck!

Tuff B-Day TO not making the Florida Sun...hope you get there at some point...better late than never.

Glad you saved the puppy Irish...mean folks that dump animals have no heart....

I'm a total fan of the feed mills cuties....it's the only feed I buy. The Embarrass feed mill sells a fresh ground 18% layer mash for 1/3 less than the old pallet stored inferior feed that fleet sells. Right now it's $9 per 50lbs. I would check out your local mill and at least see what they have to offer. I talked to Mark Peterson in regards to what he is feeding...and it's layer from his local mill there.....fresh feed is important to me anyways.....good luck!

Nothing new here, except the 9ers really suck.

Be Safe...bigz
