Nothing magical about shipping eggs..you can have perfect temps and 0 hatch. Shipping and hatching is a huge risk. I just shipped a dozen eggs to WV. I am shipping on Wednesday to NY. There are things that can be done to improve your chances of better egg hatch. Eggs are guaranteed through the PO. You have to file and have the box marked correctly to be covered. Most egg sellers and shippers do not know how to mark the box or that eggs are covered by the PO and most PO employees do not know they are covered either. If you are purchasing eggs and spending money..know all you can about shipping to inform the shipper. Is there a 'magic temperature' when it is safe to have fertilized eggs shipped? If it is supposed to be warmer next week (around 30~) is there still a chance they will freeze coming across country? I know most sellers bubble wrap them, does that give them any insulation? I REALLY need some eggs going into my bator, but don't want to be out the $$ if they arrive frozen.
Thanks!![]()
What type of eggs do you need that you want them shipped?
I have a quad coming this spring..I can bring eggs to the bash if they are laying..If you are still in need.I wish you weren't so far away, that would be perfect.
I agree about the shipping..good evening, I would not have eggs sent across country right now .. sometimes they fly them in air cargo and no amount of bubble wrap will withstand that kind of cold..
have the person sending them guarantee that they will arrive in perfect shape.. IDK< maybe they can request ground travel ?? I still think it is risky..
can't you find some eggs closer that you could drive to pick up ??
Nice self portrait Terri ..
looks like Annie will be home for a couple more days,, her client is still in the hospital showing no improvement ..
One of these days I should start getting the incubators ready.. I would like to get some of that stuff to wipe the plexiglass doors with to renew the transparency .. or at least give them a good washing with soapy water ..

You can pay for overnight..that is a huge help
You can wait till it is above freezing
You can add hand warmers...there is a trick to adding those also..if the box gets to hot you can damage the eggs..those hand warmers get to 107 degrees.
Priority Express comes with insurance and guarantees. You have to purchase additional insurance over $50.00 if you spend over $50.00. The eggs are guaranteed..there are steps you have to go through and it has to be done at the PO.
