Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Great pictures everyone..

We are getting half way decent weather..the snow might actually melt away. We have large patches of yard showing. I am going to start my seedlings tomorrow.
I actually got rid of all of my pop cycles today. What a nasty job.

Jim, we are all just waiting with anticipation for you to post your seed tapes.

Yes Jim...we all need to know about those seed tapes!

Kids and I were cutting back plants that did not get done in the fall today...is it too soon to start spinach outside???
Lovely day for running around and biking and having fun outside. Making a pork roast and then back outside we go!

I was just outside .. was going to walk the dogs around the yard,, can't do it.. snow is still too deep.. no bare spots here yet..

Bo actually ran across the yard to me when I called him.. then he glued himself to my side and I could hardly walk.. Puppy and Bo were wrestling and rolling and playing keep away with a plastic cup.. then all of a sudden there were four little dogs swarming all over the place..

I have the seed tape jig set on the kitchen table.. Now I have to figure out where Annie put the box of seeds.. She just had it out a couple of days ago, so it can't be put away too far ..

I put Sebastopol geese and barred rock chickens on craigslist today.. If/when those chickens sell I will put the flocks of Buff Orpingtons and Delawares on CL. I will keep the guineas at least until fall..

I've set my Easter hatch, a total of 11 eggs. My hen is getting confused as I moved her location and when she gets off she will go back to the old nest if someone has laid an egg in it. Ugh, I'll keep moving her to the nest that I want her on.

I finally cleaned out one of my breeding pens to try to break my turkey's brood. she's been broody for over 2 months. I went to grab her, then I heard chirping. Can a turkey raise chicks? Little baby chickens? Seems like a bad idea. Especially in this weather. Not sure what to do.

Good Luck with the hatches...can't help with the turkey idea, however I think it's a bad one.
It would be cool though...

The snow is making a slow settle here...no running, just disappearing gradually....that's a good thing here.

It's another day winding down... bigz

Evening, was a nice day here to day....collected about 18 gal of sap so we have a total of 28 gals- started to boil it tonight- probably won't get to far.

watching the Badger vs. Arizona game here...at least for awhile, fast moving game for sure

Our doe and babies are doing well...5 good sized..as for colors-3 white, 1 fawn and 1 blue or lilac tort

on day 19 of our current hatch...this one will be blue Andalusian chicks- eggs were showing good development

turkeys make excellent mothers.. if you are not going to put the chicks into a brooder box, let the turkey have them..

I had a turkey hatch out guinea eggs once.. she had 4 of them,, kept them in a tight group as if they were turkeys,, and if you don't know about guinea keets, they are impossible to keep together,,

of course, this will be just another post that will go unheeded ..
