Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I don't know what is considered a large field.. I have fields on all three sides of us, not counting a 120 acre across the road.. the shortest distance across the field from the woods is about 500 feet .. we have had weasels more than once .. a bear and a bobcat ..

we have had lots of calls about the puppies for these past few days... 2 from New London, 1 from North of Duluth .. One from the UP .. and a couple locals ..

the bash does start on May 30, right ?

I made arrangement for a nephew to come here and pitch the schit our of my coops.. he doesn't really relish the job, but he likes the money .. all I do is drive the tractor and empty the bucketfuls ..

this year I am going to have him hose the inside real good. didn't do that for a couple of years.. Then after things dry, I want to paint the whole inside white.. I might hire him for that , too..

....jiminwisc.......

large field? I really don't now what that exactly meant.. but it said that they don't like crossing large open spaces... Oh Bear? I am so glad I don't live in bear country.

hired help... nice!

Melting Day To All....yep, it's may 30, 31, and june 1..the bash that is. Bring the children and sit a spell! If your old like me, then bring a good chair along with a story or two for the camp fire.

Finally made it through the woods today. The snow has given up it's winter hold for the most part. I was so at peace today in the heavenly woods....dang that felt good to be there again.
I'm ready for the spring turkey season...hope some made it through the tough winter....I've heard quite a few reports that some of the less than the strongest didn't make it through....mother nature can really be cruel at times.

Welcome to the new folks...hope you like us here.

Thought of you today bl4...as I washed my hands....

Simon (our gray tabby) isn't feeling too good :( His belly between his back legs is hurting him. I gave him a prednisone. Hope to get him to the vet tomorrow AM

Our co-parenting broody's are getting more adamant that they stay on their eggs. They aren't coming off as much anymore and they aren't calm now when I pick them up off the nest to get the eggs that aren't supposed to being hatching. We are getting close. The chicks must be moving around and making noises of some sort. 10 more days (ish). The kids and I are excited to see how many hatch. I don't candle, it's kind of like not knowing the gender of your children. I want it all to be a surprise!

Ok, so I'm not sure if any of you remember the time over the summer that a murderer ran through my yard and tossed the gun in our ravine? And the time before that when thieves ran through and the cop left his car running in our driveway to run after them? Well the police have the search light on at the house across the street. There is an older (70s) Christian couple that lives there and has a few boarders. The police are inside the house and are searching around the house. I hope they're ok!

Yep, we have chosen to live here. The murderer was from Chicago here at a party and lost his head, the thieves were young teens, and the Christian neighbors...I have no idea what's up over there. An ambulance arrived while I was helping the girls and has just left, but I missed seeing if anyone went in it or if it was just responding to a call. There are still a few police cars hanging around though.
