Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

bl4-Simon seems to have moved beyond whatever was bothering him. I gave him a prednisone that night and he was fine by yesterday evening. I'll see how he is today and tomorrow without predisone to see if the problem comes back. I did not take him to the vet because of this.

The eggs are so heavy as I am checking for non-fertile eggs only once a day as to not disturb the mommas. I can't wait to see how many hatch! I don't candle as I want it to be a surprise. Nothing stinks, so all should be fine.

It's looking cloudy today and therefore I expect the rain is not far away. I let the hens out early so they get a chance to scratch around before the rain.

No news on the incident with the neighbors. I wasn't around much yesterday and so far today, they aren't home.

Fernie,

Having a good quarantine area and making sure you add one of your birds into the quarantine process after a few weeks will help with checking for diseases.

We quarantine rabbits. 30 days in a separate area. We are using the East side of the house for quarantine of the rabbits. Maybe we could toss a few new birds in there.

April Showers To All....Welcome to the new folks. Hope you can attend our annual bash. We put faces with names for a fun week end.

Nothing new here....inside day for sure.

I have a busy week coming up. Turkey hunting and helping to lead the Easter Breakfast at church...that means grocery shopping, preparing the banquet hall at church and cooking. I'll be ready for a nap Easter Day in the afternoon....I'll need to be at church by 4.30am to cook ...won't leave much time for sleep Sat night.

Sure is raining hard here....this should green things up some after the snow they are talking about..

Wet, icky, cold day. A day for baking cookies and running the crock pot. I did manage to get my three mile walk in before it was raining too hard.

I am procrastinating doing our taxes...... I just am not in the mood to get depressed......

CS, glad you cat is ok.

Tweaked my resume, maybe now I will get bites instead of nibbles.

Try to stay dry everyone!

We finally made our way back from the swap. It was my first year going to that one, and needless to say I was disappointed. I mostly saw quite a few "kill and grill" chickens. I was hoping to find Blue Orpington chicks for $5 or less each. Oh, well. At least one of boys won a decent sized waterer in the raffle. Well, I think it's nap time. We ran a few errands and got brunch on the way home. Maybe I will head over to Petco later. We'll see...

Hmmm - did you tweak the resume to point your career in another direction??

Tomorrow mornings "cuppa with the cheeseheads", should make for fun reading.

I don't see applying for three positions at the same company as desperate, I see it as tenacity. I interviewed for the HR position I held for 24+ years a couple of days after interviewing for one of the clinics in the same Department. I was offered the first, but explained my preference was the HR position. The clinic manager contacted the HR director and . . . as they say "the rest is history", or in my case a happy retirement!!

Hang in there - the right job will come along
