Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

that is a heII of a way to welcome a newcomer,,  want to scare her off ?  just because her name is Heather,,  maybe she is different than our infamous Heather ..
I agree, though,, Heather, enjoy your hickeys while you can..  I can do without the pictures, though.

Thank you. I will definitely skip the hickey pics and stick with the chickey pics ;-)

Shopping with DD13. She never likes what I pick and we end up arguing, so this time we walked in and I said here we are go find what you need and I'm sitting on a couch waiting. I'm so over the teenage "I know it all" syndrome and refuse to participate further.
lol..

The Amish families just want me to hatch for them in mass qualities of 300 or more at a time. Alot are asking for Cornish cross so I may have to look into them. I've never raised them before but if it will be profitable for me I'll try anything. Im sure it was Amish who called tonight as they wanted me to ship chicks to Medford, I told them I'd just drive there to deliver for gas as im sure it would be cheaper.
They are hard to make..and hard to keep white. Mine are light buff to red.

Big news... I may have 2 chocolate Orpington babies.

I didn't think any should be hatching yet, but there were two chicks in with Ganache this evening. I can't be sure since the birds all play musical nesting boxes but I looked up what chocolate orp babies should look like and they do look like them. BUT... Deli correct me if I'm wrong, but one has a dot on it's head. That usually means male, but I didn't think chocolate orps had that in their chicks? (The white dot on head that is)
No dot unless they carry the cuckoo gene..

Chocolate baby's are light brown when hatched..I sure hope you have some baby's!! How exciting to have them!

bookmark.....
I am so far behind i will not catch up..I have 5 black chicks that just hatched..

Woke up to 11 more hatched but... One tried climbing over the cardboard box dividers I made and part of it's ambilical got stuck and dried, while it was wiggling it looks like it pulled it's guts out part way. Cull I'm sure is what all are going to say? They are all dried and such and not even sure how the chick is even still alive.

I'm not sure who this infamous Heather is. But I doubt she and I are alike :)

CS, same and same. Rather depressing. No news to report on either front.

Today was eventful. My youngest DD sent me a txt at 12:30. There is no money in our lunch account so they will not let us eat. The school policy is not to feed the kids if they have a balance that is below -$10. Now, they allowed my MS child to eat but none of my HS students. I know darn well that the youngest did not eat $10 worth of food at lunch, which means they had a neg balance yesterday. I am supposed to be notified when the account is negative so I can correct the issue. I have not gotten an email yet from the school about their lunch account.

I ended up going to the school and picking up my HS kids and taking them to Subway for lunch since they were no longer serving lunch at school. What is really silly is that my kids were dishing up food and the lunch workers informed them they needed to put down their trays and leave the line. So my kids did and whatever food was on their trays was tossed in the trash.

Now I would understand some of this if I never put money in their account, but I always correct the issue as soon as I am aware of it. I do not understand when we have one policy that makes certain the low income kids never face ridicule for not eating lunch, and then another that makes sure the kids who can pay for lunch are singled out when their account is empty????

I have sent off emails to the school board and the District Admin to correct this problem. This was not the first time this year that my kids would have had to go without lunch, or food of any kind. Not even a piece of bread with PB on it.

Good thing the School Board meeting is tomorrow night.......................

Tonight was the last band concert for our oldest DD. All the bands performed very well, I am quite proud of our little musicians!

That is pretty crappy that they would make the kids leave the food and leave the line. :-/
