Sounds like my veggie garden this year. We have to host DHs annual family get together this year, plus have a ton of projects to do, plus have quite a few projects up north to do, so I knew I wouldn't have the time for it this year. It is rubbing me wrong, but I had to resign myself to planting my tomatoes, lettuce & a pepper in pots this year.

At least if they get waterlogged, I can tip the pot over to drain the excess.

Vicki, I hope you are feeling a bit better.

Which did you say are the female silkies? The cuckoo ones?

Hey Mel, how long before we can use the soap? I keep forgetting to ask.............

Cind, close call for your broody. Good luck with the next batch.

And so sorry to hear about Salt. Sometimes those roos really suck.

Jim, ya getting your notifications? Me neither.

Not much new down here today. Just cold & rainy. Went shopping with mom.

Thanks CC! I am so hoping the brown one is female it has more feathers than any of the others so far! And really calm sweet. However this was from the lavender faverolles project..breeder said small percent could be brown...just wish I knew what breed was being used for this. If it turns out to be a roo, pretty hard to sell it saying its from a lavender project lol

good evening,

good to see that not everybody has deserted us here..

I hate to rub it in, but we have had just the right rain at the right times.. most of the garden is weed free and I checked just now. my potatoes are popping up all over in the green house.. many are 6 inches tall already..time to spread some more straw over them..

I got most of the forms in for the sidewalk,, have the strike off board cut and both spreaders cut.. I just have to level the opposite side rail and fasten it in scrape the ground a little to get it to grade and I will be ready to pout concrete..

I am going to try the first pour all alone.. If I can't handle it, I will call my nephew.. In the olden days there wouldn't have been a question about it..

JP has 13 guineas so far.. Tomorrow is their due date ..

Gus walks into my garden every time I go look at it.. then I tell him to get the heII out of there and he does.. It is becoming a ritual .. I believe that dogs have a sense of humor and they like to tease ..

It got quite chilly as the sun went down.. I closed the chicks main door to keep the heat in..

now somebody else write something I can read about..

this is a new post,, that last one took about 2 hours to send..

I think the leaves coming out on the black walnut trees has blocked our receiver for out computer svc.

we had the svc installed last Jan when there weren't any leaves.. the technician mounted the receiver on the low end of the gable.. good foresight man,, I know , I know, it was way below freezing and he did it the quickest and easiest way he could.. can't really blame him, much..

but now he can come back and do it right..

It is 10:55 as I begin to submit this,,

.........jiminwisc.........

ETA hit submit 3 times, nada.. trying again..

Hi All!

Nice baby pics! (chicks)

Not much to say, got more rain.

Oh, young son was on FaceBook doing a little bragging. He got to meet Duff from "Ace of Cakes" today!!! Guess he stopped by the Donkey Balls shop!

Night All!

Paper work is done..time for field work,

Cuties.....the chicks are doing great! Brooder is in the coop, heat lamp is on for the next couple of nights. They are great as little pack hunters when a mosquito enters the brooder.
