Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

and they keep coming,, tomorrow neices and nephews and kiddos will be coming to see the puppies.

when we just got home, 3 of the 4 puppies were out of their corral, first time they got out.. couldn't find one of them right away,, then Annie saw a tiny paw peeking out from under the couch apron,,

I bought new probes for my Ohm meter today,, It didn't work at first, but then I changed the batteries and exercised the pointer indicator .. It was slightly stuck .. this particular meter hasn't been used for at least 10 years.. I have a few of these laying around..

I bought 6 dozen farm fresh eggs yesterday,, $2.5o/doz.
Annie is making noises like she wants laying hens again,, good, then I get to listen to her complain about the cost of feed ,, again.. I am dragging my feet about getting them,, I am safe until next spring, anyhow..

I got two mice at one time with the spring trap.. what must have happened was they both were eating the peanut butter when the trap snapped,, It caught the largest one, and must have hit the smaller one hard enough to kill it.. it was laying next to the trap..

Hi to Otonoh, (Dave) ..check in once in awhile when you can..

good morning,

Geez Dave, I didn't know I had so much power over you,, had I known, I would have told you to check in long ago..
Yes, no chickens here this winter,, and I like it.. maybe in the spring I will get a bunch of Cornish X's.. as long as I am building this plucker, might as well use it..
Annie wants some laying hens,, I suppose I will pick up a few of those, too.. but not enough so that I will be selling eggs again,,
the meat birds will be kept inside one of the chicken yards.. the laying hens will be free ranging..

I will need about 10 guineas also.. so you guinea people, start watching for eggs ..I want them early early spring,,

the puppies were all out of their cage this morning,, they are all back in now, and not liking it.. now that they had a taste of freedom..
they are interacting with us humans now.. learning to like being petted , and licking and biting our toes ..
soon they will be starting to eat solid food.. I figure as long as they can bite my toe, they can work on a dog biscuit.

Wow never thought you would be chicken less, I must have missed a lot, what brought this on, no birds at all? The puppies are adorable. Soon you will have as many dogs as I have. Hope everyone is well in your family. I see your neice in Law (Amy) from time to time, she didn't tell me any of this

Quote: Well, Dave, I have the one old colored rooster, and old Tommy, and Baby Huey with his two goose girl friends.. but that is it.. I just couldn't bear the thought of having to go out into the cold every day and feed and water a bunch of chickens.. I must be getting old and soft ..

I do still enjoy riding on the tractor and plowing snow,, but I can pick the day for it when it is not so bitter cold..

Amy is my nephew's wife.. they don't keep in touch with us at all..
we are too "back woodsie" for them,,
