Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good morning,

if you are going to do anything outside, better get at it right now.. later it is going to be too hot.
we didn't get any of that rain yesterday..

Annie wants to do another batch of meaties on Tuesday.. anybody is welcome to come watch or join in.. no fee required..

Bro in law said that he wouldn't mind taking his chickens to the processor .. I told Annie that we could do them and charge him.. it is a real pain to cage all those chickens , haul them there, go back later and pick them up, and then we still have to go over them to get the pieces removed that the processor forgets.. I like my chickens CLEAN ..

I'd take you up on that if you did them on a Sunday or Monday when the store is closed!

I put up 8 quarts of peaches today. Did it outside on our camping stove. Hotter than Hades but at least the house did not get heated up. So, my DGS put the remote in the dogs water dish. My DDIL(and I use the term lightly today), stuck the remote in the whole bag of rice. I used the rice in a stuffed pepper dish tonight, she would not eat it, because she might get salmonella poisoning. DS got upset that she was not being grateful enough and left the house......I am now in my room, chillin.

What a hot and humid day! The hubs is a real trooper - he hoed, watered, and is now rototilling the garden. I think he appreciates the pickled beets and the refrigerator pickles! I could barely breathe just walking back and forth with scraps for the chickaroos today. I had to upgrade the water in both places a few times today. Whew!

I'm chopping lots of squash for winter feed - for us AND the chicks. About halfway through winter we'll get tired of zucchini bread for a few weeks. Made more refrig pickles today, too. 20 pints and a big bowl for the fridge. It's so easy-peasy even I can make tasty pickles!

Stay cool!!

Another real Summer day again....I was at Camp from 9am till 2 pm...the sweet corn that we cooked was beautiful stuff and sweet as can be....it is always fun there.....

I'm special careful with the innards....no spilling bile here onto my precious meat. It's not hard work at all, just tedious special attention to details here, and once you figure it out....it's easy peasy. Then you should have a ice bath for the carcass..etc...

YUM!! Many of us could probably use a summer kitchen right about now (with A/C, of course)!

And here I cooked up an entire Indian feast! Busted my butt making three different dishes and rice; but the house smells AMAZING!!!!!

Irish, I made it to the Art show but due to time constraints could not stop by!!!! :(

Glad to see everyone is hanging in there. :)

Hi All!

When I went shopping today I saw the bin of dried up corn they were trying to sell and realized I still had 4 ears from over a week ago. I pulled them from the frig. at 9 days old and they were near perfect! Much, much better than the store corn! My daughter also brought a few tomatoes over too!

Nothing else new.....

Night All!
