Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

So I shouldn't worry? but shouldn't she have finished off by laying?
I wouldn't worry about her,, some hens spend longer time in the nest than others.
even some chickens that do not lay eggs seem to want to sit in a nest box..
maybe the cooler temps felt better in a warm nest lately ..

I went to the eye Dr today,, He said my eyes have not changed in the past 6 months..
I say they are worse, but I did not bother arguing with him,,
He said my double vision could be caused by a physical problem,, I have to go have blood drawn and have a test run on it.. he gave me a form to have filled out.. I will be doing that tomorrow..

this cool weather sure feels cold when we are not used to it..

many people run "gray water" past their septic tanks.. not legal, but it is not all that harmful..
I knew a couple of plumbers who did it with their own systems..
If you do it, don't advertise ..

Gary and I just went for eye checks too but only issue is the start of cataracts. Doctor said it will be years and years before we will have to do anything about them... Double vision, though how the heck are you driving to the store and mowing the lawn? I would be so dizzy.Hope all goes well with the tests and all of us will be thinking of you tomorrow!
Almost all the tomatoes are picked... Having a bumper crop of peppers... So made a dozen stuffed for the freezer, will make great meals for Packer Sunday dinners. Going to do up a couple of dozen jalapeno poppers for the Bears/Packers snack... Freezer is about to bust!

Okay thanks Jim and everyone the flock is doing great. Even Tap Tap's foot doesn't seem to be bothering her any more and I'm super excited about the eggs we've been getting. Especially the pretty blue(more blue than green I think) little ones from one of our EE Belle.

We got a lot of rain today most of the day it poured on and off. Also made an amazing discovery today, our zucchinis have finally come up. They're only three months late but what the heck lol hope we get a long fall. Wonder what the heck happened

Build a hoop house with plastic covering over those plants to extend the season some, make sure you can vent it. The shorter days will be a bad influence, but at least you can keep them babies warm...

Garden is going full force right now here. We have canned 60 quarts and 50 pints of spaghetti sauce alone. Going to do a few more pickles then the brussel sprouts will be starting to come in. My girls have been back to business. 14 hens giving me 12 eggs a day. My duck has quit lately though. Bow hunting starts this weekend so I may be canning venison soon. Going to be sitting in a tree all weekend.

Was a beauty of a day working in the hills & valleys of Richland County. Their county fair is this week. Has to be one of the latest in the state.

Yep, I would imagine my son will be bowhunting this weekend. Looks like good temps for the opener.
