Hi all,

I have good news, besides the Packer victory..

the hardwood cuttings of the elderberries that I put in dirt are leafing .. in one pot I have 4/4 growing.. a good average is 50/50 ..

Now I can put each sprout in it's own pot and let the roots grow..

I have to check, but I think I planted 24 of them..

I want to plant a nice row of them next spring.

I am still waiting on the grape cuttings, but not giving up on them just yet..

the pullet egg is getting larger each day.

I think the supplemental heat is helping the egg production.

yes, to the dismay of my bride, I have the pots in the house.

I had a few frozen eggs today, I think they were laid yesterday and were in the nest overnight. and the water was frozen this morning, too..

we use the cracked ones for baking or cooking.
I eat only 1-day old eggs.

oh yes, with a little inspection, there are leaves in the grapes, too.. not many, yet..

You know red stars are sex linked, right? That means the females will be red while the males will be white.

IT IS A BALMY 28 DEGREES OUT THERE! NO FROZEN EGGS TODAY. THE SNOW HAS MELTED OFF OF THE SOLAR PANELS. PRODUCTION IS LOOKING GOOD.

I don't know what the temp is out there, but the wind does not shred the skin off of my face.

water not frozen, eggs not frozen, tractor tranny is still frozen. I have the heater going on it now. I need the tractor tomorrow.

collected 11 eggs.

looks like I have to break out another waterer. those chickens go through 5 gallons like there is no tomorrow.
I gave them two 5 gal yesterday. I will see how much is left this morning.

got the tractor thawed out. going to clean up a little more snow that I missed when it was too cold to do a good job.
