Hubby FINALLY got my little tiller going. Got half the garden back under control. Everything is up and I am going to have to put in the bean and pea fences. We have started harvesting a few radishes already. Going to look at goats tonight. Got the kids pool set up last weekend and it is mostly full. Still cold as an igloo but my daughter loves it. 2 of my silkies are trying to be broody but I won't let them have any eggs.

Yep, the birds will go in on their own before dark...but they are in no hurry to go into jail again...lock up time will depend on your flock..mine love to stay out later than some flocks do. I was talking to my friend T and hers are going in before 5pm....mine lolly gag till almost 7pm...they don't want to miss any new grass shoots...LOL Your birds are just taking their time speck...too much fun having a real chicken life.
The garden is planted and I'm ready to start tilling the first one planted 17 days ago...the weeds are showing their faces already.
Bash time is here.....time to go pound my pink signs on the highway for the turnoff warning....then a longneck is in order.

that's it, I am done for the day.
I planted most of a 1000 seed packet of sweet corn this afternoon. 10 rows. Annie helped me a lot or else I'd still be out there.
both of our asses were dragging. she said to me, remember when we could do this at a dead run?

I am home, am not going to the bash. this afternoon my BP took a dive. I could hardly stand up much less drive.
too much sun? not enough to drink ?
probably, ..

I moved the dog house down to the fly pen. I hope Frankie likes her new digs.
the two roosters who slept in the dog house with her every night were pacing back and forth in front of where it used to be at dusk.

I carried the dog house down with the forks on the tractor bucket. I did a little damage to the siding, but hey, it's just a dog house after all.

her pups are due in two weeks. I keep saying she is not going to go that long.
Annie says she will, guess who will be right..

I had two yards of garden mix delivered today. nice fluffy stuff.

Hi everyone, guess it's been over a year since last posting. Just about finished reading all 3000+ posts. Enjoyed reading about the gardens and the chickens everyone has.

Our sympathies to Cindy and her family .

Sorry to hear of loss due to predators.

@bigzio- hope your mom gets better-it's never easy when ones parents aren't able to do what they use to do- very frustrating for them!

@kristip-sorry to hear that your mom is having health problems- hope you are able to help her out

@jvls1942 - hope you get back on your feet, sorry you are missing the bash.

We wont be making the bash either- for those of you who remember- we still have the rabbit that my DD picked out of the bunnies TerryO brought the year the bash was at the state park!!

2016 was a rough year for us- my parents moved in with us in March 2016 due to my dad having another major seizure and my mom needing extra help with him. Unfortunately, he also had Alzheimer's/dementia and with every seizure he had it seemed to speed up the Alzheimer's/dementia. He passed away near the end of Oct 2016. My mom stayed with us until just 2 weeks ago and then went back home....we miss having her with us.

We still have our chickens and are getting 12-18 eggs a day- we really need to get our numbers back down! Still have our rabbits- several does have litters now- 2 litters are what the kids will pick from for 4-H projects to show at fair. Our goats are doing well-we have 4 does milking this year. We added a Lamancha doe last summer and she kidded a doeling for us this spring-very friendly breed- like a big dog .

Well, I have a very happy daughter. Went and picked up 2 goats today. Both doelings. She wanted to sleep with them either in her bed or her in the large dog kennel they are in for a few days. They are adorable and very healthy. Wish all my gardens and flower beds luck, lol.

I am so glad that DD got over the loss of the little goat and is happy with the new ones..
I am not happy about missing the bash. this will be the second one I missed..
it did rain this morning, I am glad about that. it will do the newly planted corn some good. and it saved me a lot of watering in..
I have a feeling that the weather is going to come back to normal..
I got 2 yds of really good compost.
now I can make a couple of raised beds for my onions and beets.

I have a ton of eggs to set, chicken and duck.. for Jordan..

I moved the dog house and set it in front of one of the gates of the fly pen.
Now Frankie doesn't have to drag that chain around all day. she has a
12 ft x 25 ft kennel to wander around in.
she is due to have pups within the next 2 weeks and I didn't want her to have that chain on to hurt the pups.

I just finished setting 263 assorted duck and chicken eggs.
things should really be popping here around
the 4th of July...
Frankie does not like her new home. she feels like she is out of the loop. soon she will have more company than she can handle.. LOL

I guess I will be fixing the seat on the picnic table today.. guess who's idea that was..
can we say "Annie's" boys and girls ?

Hello cheeseheads. I just hatched a couple Easter egger bantam chicks and would like to have a back up plan if both or one are a rooster. If you are interested message me. I live in Muskego. They are just about a week and I will be keep them till I know for sure.

I have ONE lone chick. it was a late hatch after Jordan picked up the rest of them..

I fixed the picnic table. then I moved it to under the shade of the big maple tree. this morning I set all the tomato plants out on it. I hope the chickens don't get into them..

I just sort of unloaded both barrels at someone on a different thread..
he told me to do some research about chickens.. I don't have much to spare, but I gave him a piece of my mind..LOL

I might build a couple of planter boxes for beets and onions.. maybe do it today.. I have a small supply of wide cedar boards..

soon I will have to stretch a hose out to the garden. so far the rain has been dependable, but it just might quit
