Yep, I really like my Buckeyes, however I would like to add some fresh genes to my line....maybe bbp can help me out with 20 or so straight run chicks? Sunnyside offers the reds,.... that might be a option instead of the Bucks.

I have some buckeyes reserved from the hatchery, but I ate all of the ones I raised last year. The orpingtons blew the dorkings, buckeyes, rhode island whites and houdans out of the water when it came to growth rate.

I have all kinds of time bbp....I think the Buckeyes are one of the best birds for our cold weather here in the Badger state...they handle the cold better than most breeds for folks without heated facilities. Thought you might be a option for new genes, and yep, I also have a couple left to consume in the freezer from the extra roo's that needed to go.

I have one of those, mine is a borrowed one. probably older than you are..
yours must be a newer model.
you will like it. good machine.
get it all tuned up and you will probably never have to touch it again.

I woulld suggest setting it up on a shelf of some kind for ease of viewing and cleaning..

DH took the tractor out and moved the 4" of fluffy snow that we got also. Not needed, but he was switching the tractor and truck around any way. Since the tractor has a cab, heater and radio - it was not too much of a chore.

Menard's has a sale going on until Sunday. 15% of everything you can fit into one of their 99 cent cloth shopping bags.
I bought a cheap belt sander and some 3x18 belts. and a featherboard for my table saw..
Annie put 3 big boxes of dog treats into her bag..

have to get some gas. looks like some plowing coming up early next week. I hate running out of gas in the middle of the job..

Well, the old Dodge won't start. DH filled the tank on Monday night, Tuesday I took it to town and had the radio changed out. Drove it home and parked it in the unheated machine shed. DH got home on Wednesday and went out to play with the new radio - the truck would start but not stay running. After too many tries, it will not even start anymore - although it still turns over. I said that is seemed like it wasn't getting fuel.
Yep, he failed to put diesel conditioner (or whatever you call it) into the tank when he filled up and we think the diesel has jelled - it was single digits or less Wednesday night.
He gets to work on getting it straightened out on Saturday so good thing it is going to be in the 40's - luck me, I have to work OT. 40+ outside but I will be sitting at a computer in my little cubicle...

I don't think the fuel is jelled.
It got warm, the ice in the tank melted.
then it got warm and the water froze in the lines. just my uneducated guess.

Any good way to check to see if the fuel jelled?
The temps did drop down to -3 on Tuesday night, after I parked it in the shed.
DH drove it Monday (20 degree day), filled the tank Monday after work, I drove it Tuesday(23 degrees but parked in the sunlight) parked it in the shed. it got down to -3 degrees overnight and it started a few times but wouldn't stay running more than a few seconds Wednesday after work.
@jvls1942 Your guess is probably better than mine.
Hopefully it is warm enough today to defrost whatever is frozen.
