(I just love that little guy---the epitome of FUN!)
Welcome to all the new members too! We are growing. I will keep track of the members that would like to get together on the second Saturday of June. You can PM me or post on here and I will check in the morning. Spread the word! Looking forward to meeting everyone! Terri O near Madison

Okay. I just got off the phone with Hartan Creek State Park. Poultry is allowed in the park. However, they must not be in any picnic area. No animals are allowed in pincic areas. But they can be in the parking lots. They must be caged.(or leashed

) And can not spend the night due to noise disturbance. If we would want a shelter, it would be $45.00 and they have a couple ones to choose from.

Now this is for any state park. Day pass for Wisconsin residents is $7.00 or yearly pass is $25.00. If you would like to spend the night, it is suggested that you reserve your site ahead of time. For that you must visit ReserveAmerica.com or call them. And it's $15.00 a night for non electrical and $20.00 a night for electrical.

We would not have to have a shelter. We could use the picnic areas for free, which also are just walking distance from the parking lots. But if it rains???? My suggestion is...set the date and find out how many could come and split the cost of the shelter between all. Say 8 people are able to come. $5.00 each. That's not so bad. Kinda like dues. It also must be reserved and paid for ahead of time, which we could work out later.

I have stayed there many, many, many times. We go there a lot in the summer for swimming too since it's so close. They have nice fascilities and showers. Nice swimming area and good fishing usaully

. I really think this could work.

What's everyone's thoughts on this????

Fordmommy, thanks for taking the time to find out all this info. At this point, 2nd weekend in June should work for me. Of course, life happens, but I will plan on the meetup. As far as shelter, how far in advance do we have to reserve a pavilion? Could we wait to see what the weather is supposed to do and say yea or nay at that point?

He said the sooner the better. But that's what they always say. I have never seen both shelters being used at the same time. Plus they have an inclosed one, but that's $85.00. I say hold out on the shelter. See who and when first.

Hartman State Park sounds good to me! I'll have to work that weekend but I can stop in during the morning if that is ok with everyone.

Sounds good to me too! Where is that park? I can't wait. I told my DH and he laughed. Just one more place and thing for me to talk about my chickens he said. He just doesn't understand. But his is all for it just the same. He did say I couldn't bring anything home though.

We'll see. A shelter would be nice, just in case the weather doesn't cooperate. Doesn't have to be inclosed though. Thanks fordmommy for doing some leg work. Let me know if you need any help.

Welcome to all that are new this is a great place for info and a great place to meet new friends!

Amyable- I don't know his breed but he does look like your Cooper. Funny that was one of the choices for names. Originally it was copper but we wanted something different. I think that he has sheltie in him, but you never know. We are thinking of doing one of those DNA tests to find out. Mostly because we all disagree and one of us wants to be right.

The Humane society said Chow Chow/sheltie mix. But we don't think thats right.
Take care and enjoy the sunshine!!

Hartan Creek State Park is super easy to find. Waupaca- Hwy 10 to Hwy 54 west, 6 miles. Follow signs. That's it!
