From the Wega area! See you at the meet! And no you are NOT crazy; I am on this board and I do not even HAVE chickens... how nutso is that!!!

What a cool science project! I love to bring different colored eggs to 'show off' to people who think chickens only lay brown and white eggs....

I think I need to change my siggy to 'FM Surrogate"....

Wow that must be a fancy swap, lol
Not used to the luxury of being inside, well I will only bring in some of the standard cochins at a time than, too very big to lug around that many in a building.

Silkies fit anywhere thank goodness!

Well I am used to outside drive up swaps, so having my own cages is a given.
They are wire cages and work better for people to see the stock than a crate.
Extra standards can be in crates in the truck.
Any tiny tots I will have on hand warmers in a box.

Thanks for the heads up.

Totally freaked! Bator temp dropped. It lasted about 2 hours or so. I got my bator to a friend's house about 2 miles from me within 30 minutes. The temp was at 87* at the lowest so we should be fine. But HOLY COW! What a scare! Bator back home. Thanks for the quick thinking of Buck Creek Chickens and Babylady4. I think I need to crash and burn.

H&R I'm jealous! It is perfect weather for making syrup. Warm during the day and freezing at night. Gets the sap flowing. I remember when I was a kid my uncle used a 55 gal drum cut in half. We spent a good part of the night up in the woods of SW Wi. boiling it down. I slept by the fire and when I got cold drank partially cooked syrup for warmth. Now you've given me another project to do. I could tap some trees around me. That's going to take some research first. forndmommy that was a close one!

So what is all this hoopla about Muscovies? I just looked at the article but dont have time to read it right now. I have a breeding group of them and was wondering why nobody was selling any. Good think I sell mine for meat--when I can find buyers that is...I better talk to my neighbor after I read that article. Off to work--

(PS) Freanch Toast...you are coming to the meet and greet right?

Good Morning....close call hey fordmommy! What caused the power to die this time of year?

I think my monitor is about to die. It's been having all kinds of fits.

The feature bird in the backyard poultry Magazine is the Muscovy. Great article and pics on them.

I have one card for a free issue of Backyard Poultry. Then if you like the magazine you can subscribe for only $1497 for one year (6 issues) Anyone interested?
