Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

That's right Bigz, just call me Amish.

Does that mean I'll have to give up BYC?? It will just have to be one of the more "liberal" Amish sects. Hens and Roos, that link you posted didn't work for me, but I looked up USDA animal traceability and it is basically the same thing, just scaled back (for the moment.) USDA took immense heat for trying to ram NAIS through, but I don't doubt they will try it again sometime. Now we have to peck away at WI's stupid premises ID law - that has to GO!

I got to attend the Raw Milk Bill hearings in Eau Claire yesterday. What a turnout - about 500 people! Raw milk supporters rocked the house

The committee heard testimonies by alternating proponents and opposers (1 for, 1 against, 1 for...) and they could ask questions of the speakers. Pretty much all those speaking against raw milk were gov't agencies, stating raw is too risky to allow. But the testimonies from supporters was amazing - the stories and passion of people asking for food freedom was inspiring. Many supporters had the audience and the committee laughing - like the lady who makes raw milk cheese and sells it as 'fish bait'! (apparently raw milk cheese aged 60 days is legal but if aged less it is not). I just hope and pray the committee and the rest of our reps take this to heart and lift the ridiculous ban on this wonderful food. The current law is obviously not stopping too many people from drinking it. Folks can and should make their own decisions about what they eat.

So excited to see everyone getting babies!! PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hint hint

the only bad thing is one of the very naughty kittys got to them before they could grow up ... did not tell the kids that they would have been devistated by it

Amyable thanks for the update on the raw milk. Is the premise ID law in effect yet. I thought it was discontinued. I didn't get a renewal for this year? Mike

Great about the raw milk thing! When I was milking for a dairy the owner always encouraged us to take a gallon or two off the tank. I guess he figured that if we would take it raw then we would clean the cows good before we milked them. It was SO delicious and make the creamiest yogurt ever! I was so excited when we first moved to the country so I could get some raw milk...the neighbors who have a small herd gave me a quart and made it pretty well known to me that I was NOT to ever come and ask again! Darn neighbors! So then I got goats...

No Mike--I think the thing is still in effect. They stopped sending me notices. Said I should go on line...NOT! I use my friend's ID for showing at the fair. Heck, my horse might be kept there....

So cool that Blue is still hatching! Maybe that last one will hatch too! Any word from the incubator babies yet? (or should I say poop?) Funny story about your 4YO Fordmommy! I could just picture that chick peeping at him/her. I guess that one will be special when it makes it's way out!

Any body have any good ideas for supper tonight? I am stumped; mostly because I went out to lunch with a client today and I cannot think about actually cooking until I am at least a little hungry! That will not be for several hours...if even tonight! Anybody catch a glimpse of the sun today? I got two quick looks...this rain can stop any time! Terri O

I am making tacos with Fit and Active turkey meat and Fit and Active wraps. YUM!!!!

I got 2 boys and the youngest has decided that the baby chick's name is "Chickie". Okay. So I was on the phone this afternoon and I heard him go outside. I thought he went out by his daddy in the garage but he went my the chicken and baby. So he comes back in in a couple minutes and he's got this look on his face. He says, "Where's Chickie?" And I say, "She's under her mommy." And he starts looking under ME to find the baby.
