Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

fordmommy that's so cute! All the new babies are waay tooo cute also! A guy I work with was at his new G'sons baptism and a group of 3-4 year olds were playing together one of which is from Costa Rica and didn't speak any english. They played together with no boundries and when it was time to leave his 3 yr old G'daughter said the the only spanish she knew. Adio's Amigo! Ah from the mouths of babes! Their so darn cute when their little! Amy I hope that things work out on the raw milk bill. As long as things are kept sanitary there isn't any reason not to be able to buy it. I did a short stint driving milk truck and you know which farms are which. Everyone is tested everyday. I'm having a summer sausage sammy and a dill pickle and a Point beer! L doesn't care for corned beef and she's irish! I love it! Think I'll get a brisket anyway. She can have Tuna, cat food as far as I'm concerned.

Evening to all... It's really fun to read about all the good times everyone is enjoying on a daily basis.

Since I chose to give the older girls a rest from laying this winter. I was in need of eggs for us and the rest of the family that I usually share eggs with, so I stopped by the place with the eggs for sale sign (after grocery shopping) and picked up 8 doz to share with everyone.

They do a nice job selling a farmers doz of mixed colors and sizes. I was curious as to what breeds she had....With a smile she said...I have no clue what they are? No problem, if it doesn't matter to you that's fine.

Kinda funny how it matters to some and not to others, eh? I would want to know.

Yep, the raw milk issue shouldn't even be a issue. My son worked on dairy farms all the years growing up here at home....gallons of fresh milk were always brought home with him. Even before he had his drivers license and I would take him to the farm, when I picked him up after work, he would proudly carry his gallons of fresh milk out to the truck, that the farmer offered him. Those were good times I remember well. Today, he would be a customer.

Still have some red delicious apples from last fall in the fridge, and in a cooler in the garage. Took 4 today and cut them up into small pieces for the hens. Took them out in their favorite silver 9x12 pan....oh my....they were thrilled to have the sweet treat.

Enjoy the rest of today...

Hello all! Love the baby pics keep them coming! So who is all coming to the fondy swap? Tyler I will have to swing by. Hope to see some of you there.
Soup out there today. I hate thursdays! Longest and busiest day of the week for me. I have the most clients and I get home late and I also have clients that I really don't like on this day too. I know I'm suppose to like them all and just grin and bear it. But this one lady just drives me up the wall! I've been her aide for 2 yrs now and somedays she makes me want to pull my hair out! And even more when my moods foul and the weather is crummy! But no matter what I put a smile on and nod. Ok I'm done. Rant over. Thanks! Everyone who has ever cared for someone can relate. Actually it seems like alot of people on here are Caregivers, CNA's, or Nurses. Must be why we all love to take care of our chickens and other animals.

I love hearing everyone's stories about raw milk! Dairying is truly in our heritage.

Unfortunately, the premesis ID is not dead. In fact, Dr. Paul McGraw with DATCP said, "“What I am saying is that if someone applies for a dairy license and they said, I want to register, but I am not going to approve you to register the premises, then we can’t register the premises just so they can get the dairy license. They have to choose to if they want the dairy license, they need to register their premises.” Which of course is totally unconstitutional. Rep. Scott Suder introduced a bill that would change the mandatory WI ID to voluntary (AB 279.) I can't find any info on the status of that bill. I wonder why some of you aren't getting renewal notices? Yeah, the online form might be more conveinent, but what about those that don't have internet at home? That 48-hr traceback USDA wanted so bad would really have worked for those folks...

Terri O, that is exactly right about drinking the milk you were responsible for! Makes ya extra careful

Which is why I only buy milk from someone I trust. Gov't officials who oppose raw just don't get that point. I will continue to be an outlaw if need be.

Bec I was thinking that too about the caregivers pretty weird. fordmommy: Don't know if it's from Goonies, but I've been called worse. Laura got the Act. Dir. job, starts next week all days and weekends off. That's good timing. It's been tough to get up north with her working all those hours. It'll give us a lot more time together.

Heard a noise that I haven't heard in over 2 years last night, it was the sump pump running. All the melting snow and rain is running into the crawl space the yard still has frost in it even though it isn't much should be gone next week. I wonder how we're going to pay for this early spring?
