BCC- cool. I've never seen one before. Thanks for sharing. Fordmommy- I'm a sucker to for the light colored ones too. Little yellow fluff balls. I just want to put them in my pocket and show them off to everyone I see.

Side note: You know your a country bumbkin when you are talking to your girlfriend and say your going to buy new boots and she starts talking about her new dress boots and you say no Muck boots and I'm getting the greens pokeadoted ones too! She got real quiet on me and I know she was rolling her eyes.

I had my FIL do it. He had to do that stuff when he was a kid. So he can handle it. Being my first hatch, I didn't have the heart yet. I will eventually.

BC Paula nice catch looks like that one is already coming out of his winter white coat.

What a nice day I may take some pics of the chicks that have hatched this far. Mike

hi everyone! Haven't been here in awhile -- too dang busy. Everyone's chicks look great ( any extras could come to my house)!! If someone wants excellent fishing, come to Marinette / Menominee!! you can't beat fishing the Bay or River. We've got everything a fishermen could want - except open water right now. DH spent all weekend getting the boat ready for as soon as the ice goes out. Last year, we were fishing in snow, sleet, and rain!! all on the same day. You can't beat the taste of the first walleye of the year though. I also saw that some of you like to turkey hunt. This will be my 6th year hunting. So far I've only got a Jake. I pasted a big Tom up so that my son could shoot it instead Made his year!! I love doing anything outdoors in case you didn't notice. As soon as my mud pit dries up, I can spend more time outside with the flock and dogs. Have a great day.

Just got back from a walk....way to go H&R!!!! Good bator you built there--and good watching! I am excited to get chicks home here...I have been secretly working on the basement room to be ready for them! It is almost set. I have to wait to bring in the extension cords and the heat lamps until DH goes back to work tomorrow!

He will never know...I did show him the pics and he rolled his eyes--kinda like I did while he was telling me all the teams that made the whatever brackets in whatever sport!

I got some hens for a friend from another friend and they layed 2 eggs in my truck bed last night! I made a place for them outside today so they dont have to stay in the truck all week. The dog kennel was a little small for them! They are a weird cross that lays little brown eggs. I think some kind of silkie cross they have lots of toes! Do any other little breeds have more than 4? I know a bunch about chickens but not too much about breeds since this is my first year with any pure bred poultry at all! I have had chickens for 23 years and have only bought chickens once...in the beginning! Mine were pretty well mixed up by the time the raccoon ate them all last fall!

Sounds like all of us are having a great day outdoors! I have 3 loads of laundry on the line and it was almost dry after 45 minutes! I dont know how many of you hang laundry but that is darn good for March! They were only slightly damp because I double hung the blankets but they will be fine to go back on the beds tonight!

I am making a new recipe tonight from my new cookbook--not BYC this time! It is Fresh Vegetables with Thai peanut sauce over linguine. It is a garden to table cookbook from the test garden people in Madison. Looks to be a great book. All proceeds go to the test garden program. If anyone wants the info to order just PM me. I was notified through the Master Gardener program. Well, I better get to cookin'! Have a great night all! Terri O
