BCC those are some beautiful marans...and smart too, it was a windy one. My toupee flew off three times until I stapled it down tight.
I picked up more scrap wood in really good shape I am going to have the nicest nesting boxes on the block...I am still assessing how to divy up all the space what a nice problem to have. As soon as I have the nesting boxes up, the roosts in place, the waterers and feeders all set, the doors secure, and the straw down on the floor my month old chicks will be spending their days if not their nights in the coop...I'm contemplating putting some brooder lights up and just leaving them in there. We shall see, it's supposed to get colder and wetter this week.
Took the dogs for a long walk tonight and it's still nice and warm...man, the farm smells good. Nothing like turned earth in the early spring. The ponds have their usual spring algae bloom and our water dog loves to roll in that stuff. He's sleeping in the back foyer tonight, God bless him.
