Good Morning Chicken Lovers,

Woke up to a smattering of rain at 5:15...cool front blew through late last night. I've got all 22 chicks out of the house now and in the coop, they spent last night under the heat lamp and they all seemed like they got through their first night without too many issues. 10 of these are just about 4 weeks old and 12 are going on 5 weeks, and pecking orders are being established. I have at least 2 obvious roosters, of course the genuine ameraucauna (Who doesn't look so genuine) turns out to be a roo and the RIR...I checked on them a few times last night, last time being about 12:15...I stuck my hand in my little area I made up for them by the heat lamp and that RIR went right for my hand, protecting the others. About 64 degrees under the lamp. Not bad. It's so much easier having them out in the barn now...they are pecking everything in sight, of course. And when I left this morning they were all fascinated with the cement wall, everyone pecking at it like something was just about to happen.

Have a good day.

Wow everyone must be playing outside for 2 days.
Well have my SIL bridal shower today so another day burned up inside.

I had to go to my MIL's house yesterday and clean and cook for it. I lost the whole weekend. Not happy. I want to be out and playing with the animals and riding the horses. Oh well it's a good thing this is just the beginning of the nice weather. Well enjoy it for me everyone!
