Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Bought another 2 doz minnows for the ducks yesterday, I think it is like cookies for them; one just is not enough!

Went to Golden Sands Speedway last night to watch my DH's uncle race. We met up with my DH's Mom, Dad, Sister, Sister-in-law and of course all the spouses and kids. We all had a good time and the icing on the cake was the fireworks show at the end! After getting home at 11:30 I was up bright and early to head off to the Farmers Market in Appleton. I like going but I wish there was a bit more variety in vendors....... JMHO....

Well, off to the beach. Everyone enjoy the Fourth!!!!

Raimnel, I don't know much about tomatillos, except that my grandma planted them once and swore never to do it again - they completely took over the garden, self-seeding little buggers. They were everywhere; I guess if you let fruits drop you'll have more than you could ask for next year

FM, have fun at Bay Beach, haven't been yet this year. There was a big hulaballoo about the Zippin Pippen coming there. I think someone spent big bucks to get "Elvis' favorite roller coaster" up to Green Bay.

BL4, you must be tough to please, I think Appleton's Farmers Market is pretty good. They increased it from 100 to 150 vendors last year. I stopped at Brillion's today, and there were 5 vendors

Happy Birthday USA!!! Stay safe all!

Apparently the Zippin Pippen is going to be up next year, at least that is what I understood. I can't wait until it is here and running!

Hard to please? Sometimes. They may have increased vendors but all they did was add more of the exact same stand every 20 feet; that is what I have an issue with. I would like to see more variety; like there was a girl doing Henna tats, someone who makes gourmet cakes, a potter (LOVE her stuff), things like that. Artsy and food based.

There is a lady here in town who makes tomatillo jelly. It is REALLY GOOD! If I had more room I would consider growing them...

Hey, BCC - how far along are you in your Mille Fleur Cochin project? Any chance you need a Mottled bird? I have an 8-week-old Black Mottled cockerel I'm looking to get rid of.

One of those Call ducks from AlpineRanch quacked at me today - I already had her pegged as a girl, I could just tell from her peep, but it sure is nice to have that extra confirmation!

Forgot to add water to the incubator yesterday (the momma cat I had been fostering was being spayed at the shelter yesterday, and I was super nervous about it because she's so skinny from nursing the kittens), and I think I lost most of this last Indian Runner hatch.

I have one out, one working on it, four that had pipped into the air-cell and have now stopped moving (I candled quick when I added water this morning - the 'bator was bone-dry), and the last three never pipped into the air-cell, and they look funky.

I have enough of them now to work on a Blue Dusky and Porcelain Indian Runner project next year, but it's so terrible to get them all the way to hatch time and then lose them in the last few days.

Wow! They're really good!

No, no pics of him right now, and it's getting too dark out to go take one. I just put everyone inside for the night. I'm planning on doing a photo shoot of all the birds sometime next week anyways. He's always fighting with my little Japanese cockerel, - so he has a cut up comb, and my poor little Japanese guy is missing half his tail feathers!

What? I am the first to post this morning??? Where is everyone?

Well-Bay Beach was nice......HOT.....Windy.....but nice. Better than our local fair. At least at Bay Beach you aren't scared by the "toothless, smoking, looks like a petafiler, hasn't showered all summer, carnie guy" ....

OKay...they aren't ALL bad. The workers were all pretty nice and deffently clean. But seriously, we would deffently go again. We bought $20.00 in rides and didn't even use them all. And I was surpriced by the prices of the ice cream and soda. Dirt cheap!

I also got to go shopping at Walmart. I got a few new dresses and a couple other things.

Then we went to BL4's for fireworks and a fire and had a wonderful time. We didn't even get home until after 1 am! My kids just LOVE going there.

And the duckies are SO CUTE! Also her "postage stamp" backyard has nice green grass growing now. She's so happy about that and I don't blaim her. Not to mention the GORGOUS BATHROOM!!!!! Almost finished. Job well done for sure!

I think we'll be in the pool today. Anyone coming over???

It's going to be a hot one again today. It's already 78*. Stay cool everyone!

Happy Birthday America!

FM, going to Brainards Bridge today. Pack up a cooler and join us!

I can't believe I woke up at 9:30!!!! I must have been tired.....

As far as the bathroom goes.... right now we are in limbo due to the company my DH works for having a fire at another plant. His boss had to go down to the plant and so we have no idea when DH will have days off......

on top of that my employer put in a new computer data system and they want me to come in when I have spare time and help do data entry and the University needs me to come in a lot this week since the head of the lab department is out due to her mother having surgery!

When it rains it pours I guess.......

On a happier note, my sister returns from Europe this Wed. so I am looking forward to having some French vino!!!!

Later everyone, enjoy the Fourth!

Look what I got! Look what I got! A new trio of Blue Mottled Bantam Cochins with a Jamie Matts background!

Happy 4th of July to me!!! (and all of you...)

I think I'll just have to keep that little Black Mottled guy now, BCC...I'd like to pair him up with the Blue Mottled girls eventually, so that I don't end up "washing out" the Blue from a Blue X Blue mating. I can use him now to keep the Blues nice and deep.
