Dr. H, I know, I think I got a disease!!!!

You'd be surprised between BYC, TEG, SS, & BYH what I can dream up!!

Well, I tackled the fridge monster today, as I like to call it. Got almost all my tupperware back

Catching up on laundry, but can only do that as fast as the machine will wash it! Have a white slicing loaf in the bread machine getting kneaded as we speak. I feel rather acomplished. Much better than if my DS was home!!

I'm going to go read a chapter or two of Backyard Homestead (sorry, messed up the title earlier) while the laundry finishes spinning. Gotta clean the floors, but man. I'm taking a union break!

I got water in my ear and I can't hear much. its driving me bonkers.

anybody remember what page I posted the BYC meet and greet pic on??? I figured the newbies might like to put faces to all these crazy chicken people

did u see that BYC made the TIME mag.? the guy on the video towards the end says that chickens are like having a disease, you start out with a little then pretty soon you got way too many. I am so terminal!! when all these girls start laying.... I'm gonna have eggs coming out of my ears!!!!!!

I've been so busy lately! Glad to hear everyone is doing fine. I rented a Rug Doctor today and did my WHOLE house.

It's SOOOOOO clean! And weeded some flower beds. Mowed the lawn yesterday and "spring cleaned" the house. Some day I'll get a brake.

Tonight BL4 is coming over to set up a Facebook page for me. She insists I need one.

Tomorrow is a busy day too. I am going with my friend, for moral support, to her court date to finalize her divorce. Then, BL4 and I are planning to go to a coffee house in the evening for something special. A temporary tatoo party dealy thingy. I forget what it's called. But it sounds awesome!!! So tomorrow is my day to get a brake. My kids will go to the grandparents and DH will pick them up later after work. Finally! A brake from the mad house.

Just checkin' in looks like everyone is doing great. Someone shut the rain off!! Basements we have been working on are like swimming pools!!

It hasn't been prety. AS LIGHTNING IS HITTING THE GROUND !! I still have blrw hatching at this time, think I better shut the hatching off. Some chicks I hatched out earlier this year are already laying from a color project I have going. I may have to post pics they are f1 but very prety. Need to get my birds tested again before the fair in a few weeks. Buck Creek are you available?? Have a great eve..

Hey FM, don't go too wild tomorrow! Have fun, sounds like you need a vaca.

So Julie calls tonight and says, I have a baby chick! Wha?? One of her older birds, either a production red or golden comet, hatched out a baby!
celebrate.gif
She had NO idea she even had a broody. Just one tiny black chick with feathered feet. BCC, we think that blue Cochin banty roo from you is the daddy
big_smile.png
I thought the broodiness had been bred out of those type of hens, who woulda thunk?

Terri, the BC got another chicken this week. So the last resort is a shock collar; we'll see if it works. I think you'll be able to have a go at him if another chicken dies. Annarie, tonight I saw the 3 Runner boys you sold to Julie, and they are BIG and fast little goobers. They're about half feathered out and look like they're gonna be brown and buff/khaki? A little hard to tell. On a sad note, I found her giant Cochin behind a door in the garage, passed away. Julie had just seen her alive earlier tonight too. We think she must have had heat stroke (do chickens get that?) because she was really hot. Poor gal. So, if anybody sees giant Cochins...I hear they're hard to find.

Raimnel, we've got that disease something terrible! In my first year I've ended up with 40 birds (and built a coop for 12
th.gif
) The only explanation is that it's horribly contagious, and the only cure is bigger coops
lol.png
Raiquee, I sure hope you fulfill that dream of yours soon...its a great dream!

Try to stay cool all. A glass of lemonade in the shade is safer than tackling extra chores in this heat.

Annmarie suggested I hop on here and offer this guy. Here is what I posted in the for sale section:

We have too many roosters like lots of other people. Does anyone in my area WI- near the twin cities need a hatchery quality red bantam cochin? They are just fighting way too much. I'm not going to ship him.

He is free ranging right now and all the older birds were just tested a month ago for fair. We have a certified flock for what that's worth.

Laugh away? I think everyone has this problem.

I got a hit off of Craigslits but it was strange so I e-mailed back about this guys "flocks" that he would like my roo for but he never responded to my questions. I don't care if he wants to eat my bird but he just needed to be honest! Heck, if it was just me and my husband we'd eat him but I have a 13 year old that is way too attached to the "pet" birds. It didn't affect her in the least when we butchered our meat birds last year but she can't stand the thought of eating Caddie. He is free to any of my BYC people. We'll have more to thin out after fair comes in two weeks.

Less humid morning All! Big welcome to Aves and scarter! Aves you reminded me that we haven't heard from CN5 in a long time. Aves you and her are the closest to me. Wish I could help you both out but no room at the inn. Yet! Down to 3-4 eggs a day. The SLW's are getting bigger and prettier every day and are now mingling a little with the others. Made a cheese run in prep for the trip to the flatlands. Not looking forward to the ride. But have some Prine packed to ease the pain. Have to do the food/water for the kids and vac the Jeep. Talked to mom last night and she said it was pouring over towards the valley hope everyone over that way didn't get washed away. Things to do.
